My great great grandmother was Toba Eisenstein, and one of her sons-in-law was a Nathan Roggen. Together they were in the shirt business in Manhattan. A son of Toba (my grandfather ) is buried in Union Field. Could this be your family??

Hi emlove196,
I believe we are related. My great great grandfather Hyman (Chaim) Roggen and your great great grandfather Nathan Roggen (I think I have the right # of "greats") were brothers and are buried in the same section of Union Field Cemetery. I'm sorry to hear of the passing of your step grandmother.

Hi Steve,
I saw your request (a few years late) but thought I'd see if we can help you. My maternal grandparents are Ethel and Ruben Farro. Ethel is my step grandmother, and just passed away in August 2007. Elsa Roggen Farro, Rubens first wife and the mother of their 3 children, died before I was born.
Miki, listed below is my mother, and my Aunt Pam's sister. Aunt Pam is our family historian, so I contacted her to see if we could help with your request of the Goldberg connection. Are we long lost relatives?

Ruben Farro (b.4/23/10). a Dutch Sephardic diamond dealer, was married to Elsa Roggen (b.7/10/18) on May 1, 1938. Also buried in the Goldberg plot is Maureen (Miki) Ellen Farro Mautner (b.9/13/40), daughter to Ruben and Elsa, wife of J. Jay Mautner and mother of Sally Mautner Rosenberg and Emily Mautner Sullivan.

Elsa's mother, Hattie Goldberg Roggen was the only daughter of Mary and Meyer Goldberg. Mary and Meyer had eleven sons and Hattie. Hattie Goldberg Roggen is buried in the Cypress Hills Roggen plot with her husband Harry and daughter Tobie Roggen.
