Doris M. Fasnacht

Doris M. Fasnacht, 92, Huntingdon, formerly of Cresson, died Wednesday at The Oaks at Westminster Woods in Huntingdon.
She was born in Cresson, daughter of the late Harry C. and Emily K. (Endler) Diehl. She married William J. Fasnacht on July 8, 1940, and celebrated 54 years of marriage with him prior to his death in 1994.
Surviving are two daughters: Jill Pigza (John) of Morgantown, W.Va., and Ellen Sloan (Joseph) of Huntingdon; and six grandchildren: Jennifer Pigza of Oakland, Calif., Jessica Pigza of Brooklyn, N.Y., Joshua Pigza of Morgantown, W.Va., Jack Sloan of Portsmouth, Va., and Dave Sloan and Mary Sloan, both of Huntingdon.
She was preceded in death by a son, Lynn James, in 1947; and four sisters: Zelma Beck, Gladys Yeckley, Leora Scanlan and Shirley Law.
Doris was a graduate of Cresson High School. She retired from James Drug Store, Cresson, and prior to that had been employed at The Fabric Store. She was an accomplished seamstress. She was a member of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Huntingdon, and a former member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Cresson.
Doris was also a member of St. Anthony's Guild and made faithful donations to St. Anthony's, St. Jude's and the Columban Fathers for their mission works.
Friends will be received from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011, at Charles M. Kennedy Funeral Home, Cresson. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Aloysius Church. Committal will be in St. Francis Xavier cemetery.
