Huge Fast Tree

In the early 1700s there were only 7 Fast men on recordin the Prussian area. So, while many the Fast families that have come from them, there can only be a limited number,

I am interested in compiling as many fast families to create one large tree, lagely from individual information. This would give us all information to and people to work with. I know there is alot of work done out there, but needs to be found. It would be great to get a website up as well. Anyone interested in the idea contact me @

benstephjake@email.uophx.edu

looking for wandering John Fast's family

My grandfather was named John Fast and settled in Hooker, OK. His children were named Ott, Marvin, Lucille, Norbert, Paul, and Johnny. His father, my great-grandfather, whose name I don't know, supposedly had a falling out with a brother "back East" and left his large immigrant family to move out West. He then married a Cherokee woman, whose name I also don't know. I have heard that my father's family was from Prussia, but that may be on my grandmother's (Minnie Reiswig) side.

Would appreciate any help in finding my great-grandfather's family.

Thanks,
Diane

My wife and I are antique dealers and have a very large shop in Ft Worth,Tx. I often find family data of various kinds and am happy to share this stuff free to anyone who can "relate" to it. On my desk at the moment is a pile of letters and postcards addressed to a surname FAST in Ohio. Also in the pile ;is a sort of diary. I have a stack of large bibles with "G" stuff in the middle. I often acquire photos, as well. I would like to make these various things available to others. Having lost both my parents at a very young age I understand what a thrill it is to find even the smallest bit of info. CDheck with me and I'll help if I can. Jim Pettit

Rev War Record Christian Fast- Affidavit of Frederick Selser

On another Board I found this about Christian Fast posted by a Steve Benton.
"Dear Carolyn, I may be able to shed some light on the identity of Augustine Dillingers purported brother. My ancestor, Christian Fast, was a member of the company that went on Clark's expedition. In his Revolutionary War pension application file there is an affidavit from Frederick Selser. In his affidavit, Frederick states that his uncle was David Dilliener. This David Dilliener is on a list of men who were members of Captain Michael Catt's militia company published in the book, George Roger Clark and his Men by Margery Harding. This company was recruited from the then Monongalia Co., Virginia that is today parts of Greene, Washington, and Fayette Cos.," Pennsylvania."

I have much info on the Frederick Selser mentioned who was also from Shenandoah Va, then moved to Greene Co PA, Dunkard Twp and then in 1814 moved to Richland Co Ohio where he died. Need copy of that affidavit of Fred if anyone has it to prove who his mother was IE Barbara Dellinger, dau of Johan Gorg Dellinger of Va. I downloaded the file of Christian's Rev War record avail on Heritage Quest but did not find this affidavit mentioned. That is not unusual because in Frederick Selcer's Rev War record I was sent 44 pages but on line there is only about half that amount also.

About 10 years ago, Rose Mary Fast of Akron, Ohio had her children taken from her for various reasons, but she loves them very much as every mother loves their children, and desparatley needs to find them. They are Minnie Marie Fast, born 8-28-81, and Matthew Paul Fast, born 9-16-1986. They were adopted by a nurse and taken to Alliance,Ohio while Rose Mary was "out of commission". So basically stolen from her. She really needs your help on this on out their, those with hearts and compassion. God Bless and Thank You.

Sincerely,

A Friend Of Rose's

Can anyone explain why there is so much conflicting information as to birth and death of Christian Fast, son of Johann Nicholas Fast & Cadarina Margaretha Doner????

His headstone, Fast Cemetery, Ashland Co., Ohio clearly shows his date of birth as May 20, 1762 and date of death of June 23, 1841. Is the August 14, 1762 or 1763 date that I find so often his date of baptism? What about the date of death Nov. 23 1826? Is this another Christian Fast?????

I noticed a few names that were from elsewhere and just wanted to share this information with the list.
The link for the census webpage is listed below.
Joyce

http://www.rootsweb.com/~cenfiles/tx/nueces/1860/indexa-l.tx...

She died shortly afterwards. The Beathler family took custody(according to court documents) of Pearl around 1909. Does anyone know when Nora Beathler Fast died or where she is buried?

George Fast and Sarah Brink/Schoonover

This one's been troubling me for a while. I've looked over many other researchers' data and they all seem as confused as me:

WERE SARAH BRINK AND SARAH SCHOONOVER THE SAME PERSON?

Their birth and death dates/locations seem similar but there is some variance that I'm afraid is merely due to many people copying another person's unsubstantiated info. So its hard to figure out which is truth and which is not. (When will people learn to cite their sources?)

No one seems to have any info about the parentage of either. I'm suspecting that Sarah may have been married for a short while before marrying George. One surname may be her actual maiden name while the other may be her previous married name.

Anyone care to take a stab at this?

Fast family, Nebraska, late 1800's

We are looking for family of Isaac Fast (b . 1855, d. 1925). He married Katherine Nightingale (b. 1855, d. 1917). They had 3 children: Katherine (b. 1882, m. Goebel, d. 1967); Harry Ira (b. 1894, changed his surname to Foister, m. 1920 to Rosa Mae Behner, d. 1948); and Sarah (b. 1892, m. Janzen, d. 1933). We believe they are from York County, Nebraska. All but Harry are buried in Deer Creek Cemetary, Oklahoma. Any ideas?

Photos of Fast gravestones from various cemeteries in many different states. Pictures can be sorted by surname, maiden name, or even the name of the cemetery.

http://www.the-lightfoots.com/cemetery/cemetery.htm

Be advised that these pages have large tables of data and will take longer to load than normal so a broadband connection is recommended. I'm working on splitting them up in smaller segments.

Need help with some Ashland Co., OH marriages

I have a fairly large database on the Fast surname particularly on Ashland Co., OH as that is where my ancestor lived. However, in the early marriage list there are a number of Fast names I cannot place. I probably already have them or their parents names but can't pinpoint the indivdiual. Too many of the same name! I have searched Rootsweb, GenCircles, LDS, and both message boards with no result. At times I found information on the spouse but not enough to place the Fast name. I have included that information in paratheses. If someone else knows more about an individual in this list could you please contact me? Thank-you.
George Fast married Elmira Gray Hetfield on 13 Jan 1861. Elmira already had one daughter, "Kit" Hetfield, aged about 5 years. George and Elmira moved to Hopland,Mendocino, CA in about 1862 where they lived in town and farmed until about 1880. They sold the properties and presumably separated/divorced. I have found no other record of George. George and Elmira had no children together. Can anyone shed some light on his whereabouts and burial?

My great-grandmother's sister was Amelia Fast. I think this was her married name. She came from Germany (Berlin or Brandenburg) and died in California, but all I have is a name. Her family name may have been Quandt. Does anyone have any ideas. I can't seem to find her anywhere.

The Pike County Times
Pittsfield, Illinois, Wednesday, December 21, 1932

Rockport Man Dies of Heart Trouble Saturday

George W. Fast passed away Saturday morning, December 17, with heart trouble. He had not been well for years and after his wife had prepared breakfast, she went to his bedside to call him and found him dead. Dr. J.H. Welch was summoned and an inquest held.
George Fast, son of Isaac and Narcissa Fast, was born in Martinsburg township, Nov. 1, 1857 and died at the age of 75 years, 1 month, and 16 days. He was one of a family of ten children. He was first married to Catherine Sarah McCurdy in 1886 and to this union two sons were born, Claude R. of El Dara and Irwin of Kahlotus, WA. In 1907 he was married to Miss Etta May Brokaw and to this union three children were born, Lawrence of Rockport, Edna May of El Dara and Loyd of Rockport.
George Fast lived his whole life in Pike County. He worked many years for Will Yokum and had many friends who regret his passing. He was a good honest man who always seemed to get much out of life. He was energetic and always tried to make the best of things in spite of his handicaps. He was crippled for many years.
The funeral service was held at the Rockport Christian Church Sunday afternoon. In charge H.R.Brown of Pittsfield. Interment was in the Samuel Taylor Cemetery.
