Jesse Fatchett, 76 of Alton, died at 9:42 pm Saturday, Feb. 13, 1988, at St. Anthony's Hospital in Alton.
Fatchett was an engineer for Illinois Terminal Railroad for 33 years, and was union chairman for five years, until his retirement in 1975. He was born in Bismark, MO., son of the late Charles and Amanda (Wallace) Fatchett.
On Aug. 28, 1932, he married the former Ruth Mason in Jonesboro, and she survives. Also surviving, are three daughters, Nancy Bennington of Godfrey, Kim Carroll of Alton and Judy McElroy of Grafton, seven grandchildren, eight
great grandchildren, two sisters, Grace Walters and Helen Morrison, both of Jackson, Mo., and two brothers, Norman Fatchett of Alton and Charles Fatchett of Jackson.
A daughter, two sisters and two brothers preceded him in death.
Visitation will be after 4 PM Tuesday at Gent Funeral Home in Alton, where Masonic rites will be conducted at 7 PM by Piasa Masonic Lodge 27 AF&AM
Funeral services will be at 11:30 AM Wednesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Orrin M. Anderson will officiate.
Burial will be in Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
Memorials may be given to the American Diabetes Association.
