Hello,
Adam Carpenter may have been married more than twice. I have found reference to a marriage to an Ann Maria Anderson in 1838 in Bedford Co, PA. However, this could have been a different Adam Carpenter and I don't believe any children were a result of this union in any case. This would have been his first marriage.
I have also seen reference to marriages to a Margaret Wallace and Eliza A. Adams. Again, I don't know if this is all for the same Adam Carpenter.
My mom has found a reference to him having 24 children in a family tree at the Clay County Genealogical Society, but again I'm not sure if all these children really belong to the same Adam Carpenter.
In 13 Nov 1907, in Bedford Twp, Bedford Co, PA an Adam Carpenter was present at a corn husking at S. H. Shaffer's.
If this is the same Adam Carpenter he would be about 90 years old.
At least one family tree has his death given for 1920, age 104, but I have not found any sources to back this up.
Ann Reamy must have died between 1870 and 1880. I would imagine she is buried in Clay Co, IN. Another researcher has given her death date as 1877.
Hope this helps!
Lisa
