Surnames: Faucett, Anderson
My 3-great-grandmother, Martha Faucett, born 11 August 1805 in Orange County, NC, died 18 July 1853 in Alamance County, NC; married William Anderson on 6 Oct 1825 in Orange County, NC. Both are buried in Cross Roads Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Alamance County, NC.

Martha was a daughter of a George Faucett. The following information was obtained from a cousin, Holt Anderson:

"I do not have copies of the original records cited but the “Abstracts of Vital Records from Raleigh, NC Newspapers 1820-1829” [RNC 929.375 News V.2] on page 19 has the following:

146 ANDERSON: M. In Orange County, on the 6th inst.. Mr. WILLIAM Anderson to Miss MARTHA Faucett. RRsw Tues 1 Nov 1825 3:5. / RRw Fri 4 Nov 1825 1:5.

….on the 6th ult…dau of Mr. GEO. FAUCETT. RaNCSw Fri 4 Nov 1825 3:5

MB (Marriage Bond). Orange Co. Patsy Fossett 25 Sept 1825 Hugh Crawford (w) J. Taylor, J.P.

These newspaper accounts do not name the mother."

Does anyone know which George Faucett was her father?

Some cousins believe she was a daughter of the George Faucett who is also buried at Cross Roads. That George was born 26 August 1777 and died 21 March 1827. His known wife was Martha Dunn Ray, born 14 April 1789, died 12 June 1876 (also buried at Cross Roads). George and Martha were not married until 21 October 1807; so, I know that Martha Ray most likely was not the mother of my 3G-grandmother. George was 11 years older than Martha Ray. Does anyone know if George had been married prior to his marriage to Martha Ray?

Any assistance in breaking down this brick wall is greatly appreciated.
