W R Faucett - Alabama

Looking for information on a W R Faucett (could be William R) born in 1832 in Alabama. I believe he was a brother to Sarah Faucett who married a James McCombs. W R Faucett married Nancy Hartgraves (Hartgroves) in March 1854. My gr-grandmother wad born 9 months later (Dec 1854) and her name was Francis. I cannot locate this family on the 1860 census, but in 1870 Francis Faucett(Fossett) was living with Sarah Faucett McCombs and her husband James McCombs. I believe something must have happened to W R and his wife Nancy, but am having extreme difficulty locating any records. I am not sure if they had any other children. If anyone has any information, please let me know! THANKS

I'm looking for an Elmore Faucette born in N.C. and moved to Greene County Ga. Don't know the dates. Only have been able to trace his son (my gr grandfather) Peter Early Faucette born in Greene County Ga in 1917 and he married Martha Brunt and they moved to Concord Ga. I found Peter and Martha's grave in the Fossette Cemetery in Concord. Only early records I have been able to find is 1820 census from Greene County with Elmore and Child under 10 years of age. Other records show Peter was orphaned at an early age. If you can help me please contact jfield510@verizon.net. Thank you

William H. Faucett, Indiana>Missouri

Hello, I'm researching my Faucett relations, and I'm kind of stumped. Any information you could provide would be much appreciated! Lola Ethlyn Faucett Cowles was my great-grandmother, so William H. Faucett would've been my great-great-great grandfather. If you could give me any information you know about William H. Faucett, Sr., his wife, their parents, ancestors, decendants - anything at all - it would be greatly appreciated!

I've found some census records for the people I have listed, but there are gaps in information, and I can't really find anything definite before the 1860 census.

William H. Faucett was born in 1835 somewhere in Indiana and settled in Miller, Scotland Co., Missouri sometime before 1860. Married to Martha (b. Jan 1845 in MO), maiden name unknown. We know that William H. was born somewhere in Indiana, and both of his parents were born in North Carolina (I assume Orange County, as that's where the Faucett families seem most concentrated.) He had 12 children, 8 that lived to be included in census records.
a. William H. (1864-??)
b. Martha E. (1866-??)
c. Charles M. (186?-??)
d. John E. (18??-??)
e. James Y. (Sep 1878-??)
f. Lola (Nov 1880-??)
g. Lee (Feb 1884-??) Married Alcia
h. Albert "Ross" (16 Nov 1885-1949) m. Ada Alice Cone in 1913. They had three children:
i. Junius "Leland" Faucett (1 Feb 1914-29 Apr 1990)
ii. Lola "Ethlyn" Faucett Cowles (29 July 1916-16 Nov
2002)
iii. Living female (1923-)
Martha Faucett, b 11 Aug 1805, Orange Cty, NC, d 18 July 1853 - need correct George Faucett for father

My 3-great-grandmother, Martha Faucett, born 11 August 1805 in Orange County, NC, died 18 July 1853 in Alamance County, NC; married William Anderson on 6 Oct 1825 in Orange County, NC. Both are buried in Cross Roads Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Alamance County, NC.

Martha was a daughter of a George Faucett. The following information was obtained from a cousin, Holt Anderson:

"I do not have copies of the original records cited but the “Abstracts of Vital Records from Raleigh, NC Newspapers 1820-1829” [RNC 929.375 News V.2] on page 19 has the following:

146 ANDERSON: M. In Orange county, on the 6th inst.. Mr. WILLIAM ANDERSON to Miss MARTHA FAUCETT. RRsw Tues 1 Nov 1825 3:5. / RRw Fri 4 Nov 1825 1:5.

….on the 6th ult…dau of Mr. GEO. FAUCETT. RaNCSw Fri 4 Nov 1825 3:5

MB (Marriage Bond). Orange Co. Patsy Fossett 25 Sept 1825 Hugh Crawford (w) J. Taylor, J.P.

These newspaper accounts do not name the mother."

Does anyone know which George Faucett was her father?

Some cousins believe she was a daughter of the George Faucett who is also buried at Cross Roads. That George was born 26 August 1777 and died 21 March 1827. His known wife was Martha Dunn Ray, born 14 April 1789, died 12 June 1876 (also buried at Cross Roads). George and Martha were not married until 21 October 1807; so, I know that Martha Ray most likely was not the mother of my 3G-grandmother. George was 11 years older than Martha Ray. Does anyone know if George had been married prior to his marriage to Martha Ray?

Any assistance in breaking down this brick wall is greatly appreciated.

Sandra Arnold
Brewster, WA
Albert Francis Miles connection to Faucett

My paternal great grandfather, Albert Francis Miles was married to a woman with the last name of Faucett. I can find no history on her or her family. I also have very scant history on Miles Family history as well. I appreciate any help anyone can give me.

My g-grandfather was born 863 in Durand, Wisconsin, travelled with his family to Minnesota by the age of 17,
and settled in South Dakota by the age of 22 (1885). He died in Mobridge, SD on 12/17/1945.

Cindy,

I am also trying to research Faucett/Fawcett line. I am looking for C.S. Faucett born in Ohio (1822), spouse Katherine (Hawk) Faucett also born in Ohio. They moved to Indiana where 3 children were born: Joseph S., Clinton, Mary Jane. In approx 1875 they moved from Butler Co., OH to Shelby Co, IL. Except for the 1880 Federal Census and 1880 local census of Shelby Co., I can find little else on them.

If you think there is a connection with the line you are looking up, please contact me.

Thank you,
Andria Tolerton

Hello Andria,

I was browsing around on the message thread and came across your thread. My family line has Charles Sanford Faucett born in OH and who was my GGGF Harvey S. Faucett's Father. Charles was married to a Catherine Hawk Faucett both of whom were born around 1822. Of which according to a copy of census I have dated OCT. 1850, 3 kids were born Harvey s., Sarah E., & Margaret E. I would have to look in my records further and I have a lot of info I have uncovered. Could this be a tie you need? Please Email me for more info.

Thank you for your time,

Mark Murdock
serveagl@cros.net
P.S.
