I'm not sure if you found out this info. already, but I found a copy of the marriage license of Francois Faucheux and Julie Haydel. It says that Francois's first wife was Genevieve Maillard and lists his parents and Francois Faucheux and Marie Bosse. Of course this is a typed copy that someone translated, so it could be an error.

Looking for information on the following names: Francois Faucheux, George Richard Faucheux, Evathure/Evatur Faucheux.

Our Faucheux's moved to Texas from Louisana (New Orleans area).

No one is really sure when or why but the spelling of Faucheux was changed to Foucheaux by Evathure or one of his sons. I suspect it was deliberately changed by a family member.

Have reached the perverbial brick wall.

Any help/inf. appreciated.

Hello Joyce, My Ancestor is Francoise Faucheux,born c. 1735 married to Michael Friloux, I think she is a sister to Francois Faucheux, but have not been able to prove this, however from researching I have some information on Faucheux family.
Francoise [Francoise and Marie Lacoste], b. July 28, 1755, s. Michel Friloux @[Friloute] and Marie Francoise Bauche [SLC, B3,45] Volume 2, p.119 Archdiocese of New Orleans Sacramental Records..[this Francoise married Genevieve Maillard]

The sponsors are my ggggg-grandparents, which makes me think she may have been Francois's older sister, somehow they are related. I wich I could find the information from someone.

Jacque Philippt, born May 1, 1745
Marie Magdeleine, born May 7, 1749, married Isay Du Montier, 1767
Marie Jeanne married Pierre Guerin and had son Francois Guerin, bornSep. 6, 1774, New Orleans, La., Marie Jeanne second marriage to Luis Champiny,married 1786
Francois Faucheux married Genevieve Maillard.

All of these children's parent's are listed under Francois Faucheux and Marie Lacoste, no where is the surname Bossie written, this has me confused. What is your source for the Bossie surname?

I also have sources for other children if needed, and sources for other Facheux families.

I am Brent Rome of Covington, LA, grandson of Irene Faucheux Terry (b: 1914 d: 1988), daughter of Ursin Faucheux and Jeanne Waguespack. I am looking for more info on both the Faucheux and Waguespack sides of the family, I am just starting research on this side, any help would be appreciated.
I remember and met most of my gradmother's siblings: Maitland "Big Boy", Roland, Raoul "Dutch", John, Maurice "Snook", Bye "Ma Red", Helen (Duhe), Suzanne (Elfer). Bobbie If I am home when you come in town I would be glad to go with you to Taft.I am now in the process of taking test starting this week to see if I can make the heart transplant list at Oschner.You cousin Barbara Faucheux,Mable and Whitney all live around me. I am good friends with Barbara .She has all of the records you need. Unfortunately I find that my grandparents are not buried at the only cemetary in Taft so I am at a loss as to where to go from here. And I don't have much time left before I will be in NO. This trip came up unexpectedly - otherwise I would have done more research. But I would love to talk to you and Barbara and maybe get copies of what ever information you might have on my family. I will be in touch. Thanks again! By the way, is the old high school in Destrahan still standing - Ma graduated in 1940 and I wear her high school ring still.

Live in California; coming to New Orleans October 21; my grandparents Joseph Amelius Faucheux and Odile Troxler Faucheux died in 1936 and 1931 in Norco; certificates say burial in Taft; would like to find out where so I could visist graves. You seem to have lots of info on Faucheux family - can you help? I was working hard on Faucheux a few years ago and got busy with other things; now trying to get back; Thanks for any help you can give me.

I am still looking for any leads about the Faucheux's who lived in St. Charles Parish, La. My grandfather, Ursin Faucheux married Jeanne Waguespacke somewhere around 1900, and fathered eleven children. The names (I know) of the children are; males: Maitland, John, Roland, & Maurice (my father). Females: Bye, Helen (Duhe), Susan (Elfer), Irene, and ?
I am just getting started on this research, and I would be very grateful for any help I receive.

Thank you for your generous sharing of information. It is enormously helpful to a complete novice like me. I am beginning the search for my ancestors only today! My father, Maurice Antoine "Snook" Faucheux, b. 1911 (who added the "a" to our name for some reason when my brother and I were born) was one of eleven children born to Ursin (not positive of given name)and Jeanne Waguespack (not positive of surname). They lived in St. Rose, a town in St. Charles parish. My grandfather, my father and myself were all baptised at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Destrehan, La. My father's siblings were; Susan (m. Elfer?), Helen (who married Eddie Duhe), Maitland Sr.(who fathered 13 children and was a WW 1 vet), John, Roland,Irene, and a sister nicknamed "Pick" and "By", who lived to be at least 100, and may still live.

I have been able to find our Faucheux ancestors on Adams side back to Pierre Touchet Faucheux b 1732ca SJB, LA married to Marie Catherine Ockman b1732 SJB LA. parents of Louis Faucheux b1783 SJB, married Francoise Roger b1787 SBP LA parents of Alfred Benoit Faucheux b 3-21-1827 married Philomene Theresie Faucheux 12-6-1836 parents of our great grandfather Joseph Adam Faucheux b 1863 SJB LA married Leonie Schexnayder b 1870 SJB LA.

My research to date is limited to 19th century census records, family interviews, and a subscription database available through ancestry.com. I have just begun to validate all this against church records. The church parish of our Louisiana Faucheux Ancestors are, I believe, St John the Baptist at Edgard, St Phillip at Vacherie and St Charles Borremeo on Bayou Lafourche. There are 14 published volumes of sacramental records for the diocese of New Orleans during the colonial period of Louisiana through about 1820. I have also fleshed out the Ockman, Roger, and Theresie Faucheux ancestors back 7 generations from our parents. All this is work in progress at various stages of presentation and notes I will be glad to share with you.

I just got your message. Suzanne Faucheux was my father's sister. We called her "Aunt Suz." My father was Maurice Faucheux, and his nickname was "Snook." He was the second youngest in that family. If you have any other information about Suz's parents, or grandparents, birthdates, birthplaces, etc. I would love to have them. I'm trying to put together a family tree. Spindletop Oil co in Beaumont,Tx. lawsuits has been filed every few years against them .It has been told through the years that Louis Folse (who we all have in our family ) was one of the first to strike oil on this land. THe lawyers threw it out of court again and said he hopes this never appears in court again. Louis was suppose to be a bachelor who made it big at Spindletop and use to come home to this area and bring home money to the family. Some people spent lots of money to do their family tree to try to prove this. Your cousins John Faucheux, Barbara Faucheux Cambre, Sis, and Kay ( JOhn sisters) and myself even went to Johnson City,Tn to a meeting with all the class action lawsuit members.It was thrown out of court.
