Both Faulkner and Johnston are ancestral names of mine. My Faulkners in America started with Edmund born 1625 in England. Next was his son Francis who maried Abigail Dane
(she was charged in the witchcraft trials in 1692, lived in Andover, Essex, MA. Two of their children headed lines of mine. Abigail married Thomas Lamson, fathered Martha who married Abraham Knowlton in 1734. My maiden name was Knowlton. F and A's son Ammiruhamah married Hannah Ingalls and they had Nathaniel who married Catherine Eveleth
who had Lucy who married another Abraham Knowlton, grandson of the first mentioned one here. Lucy was my gggrandma. They were all from Massachusetts, various counties. Abe and Lucy moved to Union County, IN in 1838 with their family. Abe died shortly thereafter in 1843 and where Lucy died in 1867 I have never been able to discern. It is very possible that one or more of her children lived in Ohio.
Her son George Henry moved to Allen County, IN and that is where my grandfather, my father and I were all born. On my maternal side my gg grandfather was Francis Johnston. His daughter, Margaret married Jacob Lawrence in 1834 in Wayne Co. OH. They also had a son John Clark Johnston, and three other daughters, one of whom Mary, married John Firestone in Wayne County. I have little information on this family am searching for more. (Francis married Mary Clark.) John C married Elizabeth Logan, their daughter Cecelia married Frank Rinehart and they all lived in Galia, Crawford Co., OH. If you know any thing about either family, please contact me. Jeanne
