Bonnie Jane Faulkner, 62,
of 207 Maple Ave., Beech Creek, died Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at her residence.
She was born Feb. 3, 1946 in Lock Haven, the daughter of M. Jane Bechdel Dorey Pool, who survives in Beech Creek, and the late Harold M. Dorey.
On June 7, 1967, she married her husband of 41 years, Donald L. Faulkner, who survives.
She was a 1964 graduate of the former Bald Eagle-Nittany High School where she was the captain of the cheerleading squad and was the school’s entry in the Flaming Foliage Festival in Renovo. She was a 1967 graduate of Lock Haven State College and earned her master’s degree from Shippensburg State College in 1970.
She was an elementary school teacher for three years in Dillsburg while her husband attended law school at Dickinson University. She then was an education specialist for Head Start for two years and a first grade teacher in Renovo for a year for Keystone Central School District.
She was a member of Blanchard Church of Christ. She was also a member of the AAUW.
She was a past member of the DAR and was an aerobics instructor at the Lock Haven YMCA.
She was an avid runner, bicyclist and exerciser. She enjoyed gardening and caring for the many flowers she planted around her house. She loved her many Golden Retrievers and will be missed by her Golden, Chloe.
In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by a son, Elliott C. (Janika) of Huntington Beach, Calif.; two daughters, Amanda J. (John) Jackson of Pleasant Gap
and Hillary K. (Chris) Regan of Chalfonte;
a brother, Randy (Donna) Dorey of Beech Creek;
and three grandchildren, Olivia Kate Cresswell,
Lillianna Paige
Regan
and Adrienne Brooke Jackson.
Private funeral services will be at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Blanchard Church of Christ Cemetery, Blanchard.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lock Haven YMCA.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, PA 17745.
