I have an ancestor Adam Vaupel born bet. 1811-1813. He immigrated from the village of Lendorf in Homberg in 1834. He settled in Ohio. The family name ultimately became Vaubel. Funny thing, he was definitely Catholic (some document do show Fauble/Fable). While I have a great deal of info on him and his family after arriving in the US, I have nothing on him previously. What would you recommend as a starting point? You had mentioned a Franz Faupel at a church in Kammerzell. Do you have any idea how I might get in touch with him? Any info and all help much appreciated.
