I haven't got Frederick Adam Faust back to Germany, yet.
However, I did find out that he was the same one as the
saddler in the Civil War. He entered the war as a corporal.
He exited as a saddler in the cavalry. I found him in the
1880 census with 6 children, but no wife. Whew. That is
too large a concept for me to wrap my brain around. I have
had other relatives (ancestors) that lost his wife when he
had 4 children, the youngest of which was 33 days old. His
sister stepped up to the plate, hence the title, "Mutter
Schwab (pronounced 'Schwope'). Don't ask me why. I didn't
ever learn that.
