Paula,
Just noticed your Ancestry.com posting of May 2005 on Fauth of Portsmouth, VA. Appreciated your info on an earlier (Lucy Carter) marriage. The BF who was husband of Margaret Carr was a grocer, and son of a BF. The son (subj of my research) served as an officer in the Portsmouth Light Artillery and, 1863-'64, the signal service, Confederate army. While serving as signal officer on a blockade runner, he was killed by a shell (or, according to another account, badly wounded) dying from the effect in 1864. He is buried by his presumed father in historic Cedar Grove cemetery, Portsmouth, plot 3 148. Can't answer your 2005 question, but have a few crumbs if interested. (Away 23-27 Jul 09.)
