How about that cousin! I am so excited that I came across your message board. Ruth Reed would have been 15 years old when my grandmother died and 17 when I was born. I am excited that someone alive even knew that my grandmother existed. My father was the youngest of Ella's children and I am his oldest. That generation and my grandmother's are all gone. I never had the chance to ask any questions. Does you grandmother know much about her grandfather. Robert Reed Fauver. He died in 1907 so he was gone before she was born but did her father talk about him much? I'm hoping we can fill in some gaps if she is willing. Ella must have gone into foster care as a baby and was taken out by the Shinn family. Probably stayed until she was of age and then left to live with one of her brothers. But which one? She married my grandfather when she was 22. I know nothing about the Shinn family so anything you can find out would be great. Ella apparently wasn't adopted because she retained her name. Does you grandmother remember hearing any stories about her aunts and uncles? that's enough for now. Have a great day. Jerri
