Karen,

I do not know if you can help me or not but I thought I would reply in hopes that you may. Nora E. Wilhelm married a Bert Favorite in Miami County, Ohio. Nora's parents were Eno Wilhelm and Nancy Bard. Nancy Bard's father was Rockwell Bard. Rockwell's parents, William and Eunice Bard came to Miami County, Ohio in 1831-33 and stayed till their deaths. Would you happen to have any data on the Bard family that married Bert Favorite? Would you know of someone that may have data on the Bard family? I found some leads but either my letter came back "no longer at that address" or my letter was not responded to.

Thank you.

Deborah

FAVORITE reunion register 1917-1939 and related

I have been working on the FAVORITE descendants of Joseph b. 1794 and John b. 1799. This John FAVORITE married second to Mary "Polly" FAVORITE" b. 1822, the daughter of Joseph FAVORITE b. 1794 and Ellen Long. I descend from John FAVORITE b. 1799 and his first wife Rebecca ISGRIGG. The family story is that John b. 1799 married second to his first cousin Polly FAVORITE b 1822. For that to be true John b. 1799 would have to be the son of an older brother of Joseph b. 1794. This is surely possible, another conclusion would be that he married his niece which would not have been likely to be approved of by family. These 2 families are definitely connected before the marriage of John and Polly. I have reunion register for 1917-1939 and the names listed in the address section and in the yearly minutes are name from both lines. I many more in the address list to figure out how they connect. For example, there is a Daniel and Pauline POORMAN listed with a grandaughter Naomi WINES from Williams Co OH. I have figured out the POORMAN and WINES and how they connect but can not find a connection to the FAVORITE family.
Other names listed in the register are:
George MILNE of Ypsilanti MI
Elva SPITLER of Kalamazoo, MI
Erma GOODRICH of Holt, MI
Edna ROWLEY of Kalamazoo, MI
Bertha HARDER of Battle Creek, MI
George FOSTER of Battle Creek, MI
Charles HIGGINS of Toledo, OH
Rosa HIGGINS of Lansing, MI
Richard HIGGINS of Lansing, MI
Albert ANDRES of Toledo, OH
Richard BENTZ of Toledo, OH
and several more

Mark Lozer
my email is: lozer@fulton-net.com

If you want a copy of gedcom and or descendant report send me an email.

S. Studer,
I have an Elizabeth FAVORITE/FAVAURITE, also recorded as EAVORITE. She was b.21 Nov 1825 in PA. When I interviewed her 93 yr. old grandson, he said his grandmother was "Pennsylvania Dutch."

I am told by another source that she is the daughter of Joseph FAVORITE, who was b.8 Oct 1794, and d.12 May 1858 in Edgerton OH.

Primary data shows that Elizabeth FAVORITE m.24 Apr 1844 in Tuscarawas Co OH to Charles SADLER/SADDLER (b. Germany). This family migrated to Bartholomew Co IN ca.1850 and remained there.

Any connection to your research?
Beth

He also is listed in the Wayne Township history as marrying Rosanna P. Campbell, dauther of John Duncan Campbell, son of John Campbell who died at the stake in the battle of Sandusky Plains (Ohio)in 1782. John Duncan Campbell's mother was Rosanna Petticrew, daughter of David Petticrew (b. 1713, d. 1784 in Dauphin County, PA) and Elizabeth Finlay Petticrew.
I have a comprehensive genealogy of the Petticrews and related families back to Ireland then Lanark, Scotland in the later 1600s and am trying to complete the line of Rosanna Petticrew Campbell.

Willing to share any information I have that you may be interested in.
Karen,
We got your e-mail, but when we try to reply, the mail keeps getting returned. I think we have much info to share since it appears we are of the same line descended from George W Favorite, Sr. Whereas your line is then from Samuel, ours is from George Jr. Samuel is buried near where we live in Lafayette, IN and was a wealthy merchant near here. I have pictures of his gravestone and gravestones of his wife and daughter Frances. I have a newspaper article written about Frances as she was at one time the oldest resident in our county.

Please try the e-mail again.
Hello Very glad to hear from you. I have no doubt that she must be connected. The Joseph Favorite you mention, even though the birth and death dates are somewhat different, is my great grandfather. I'm living abroad now, so haven't obtained any real records regarding this ancestor myself so as far as I know your dates may be accurate. I do have a Della E. Favorite listed as their children b: 1872. That could be the Elisabeth you are talking about. Please feel free to email me at studer@home.nl. I have very little information about most of the children. Sadie(my great grandmother), Mary, Anna, George, and Della E. are the children I have. Little to no further informaiton about most of them execpt for Sadie. I'll look forward to hearing from you again on this. Thanks for contacting me! :)
