Hi Kathy: Wow--your message was an eye opener, but I don't believe it is true. At least I have never heard anything like this, and Francis Virginia Fawver Kintner Purcell was my great grandmother (my mother's favorite person on earth when she was young, and I know mother never heard a tale like this or she would have passed it on). I'll contact you you directly and tell you what I do know, and if anyone else is interested they can do the same. (dedor7020@yahoo.com) I only one have comment--if Jacob Fawver gave his daughter Francis Virginia to someone on a wagon train, what did he do with the other three kids he had by Margaret--one daughter older and two sons younger??? I think it is just a tale that has grown with the telling, but I can't swear to it. I just think it is very unlikely.

Dorothy.
