Looking for informaton on FAYE FAMILY, G-GRANDMOTHER HENRIETTA FAYE married JOHN RISIUS and lived in Peoria, Illinios, they had a very large family including Catherine my Grandmother. Henrietta'a parents may have lived around Streator, Illinios as I have a photogragh of them that was taken by a studio in Streator.I have no clues about thier names but suspect he farmed because in the picture it is very noticible that her father had rough hands and shoes
appear to be very sturdy an somewhat worn.Any clues will be appreciated.

My Michael Fay was born about 1838 in Ireland. He immigrated to the United States in 1855 at the age of seventeen. He may have been born in Dublin. He was in Lynn, Massachusetts in 1862. I have three photos. One which identifies "Mr. James Faye". I have a second photo which was taken August 30, 1916 in Los Angeles, CA which identifies "Jim Fay and wife, Don and wife, and Jim's sister Mrs. Holden and Uncle Tom Farrell." The third photo is a photo of Ellen Farrell wife of Michael Fay. Sitting next to her is James Fay. I believe one of the persons in the photo is her second husband Henry Riley and a daughter or stepdaughter named Hyle.
Michael Fay died in 1868 leaving behind a daughter Anna Marie Fay. Ellen Farrell Fay married a man named Henry Riley after the death of her husband.

I am looking for any information about any or all of these people. I will share these photos if anyone believes this is their family.

She was married to Samuel Steele and lived all her married life in Massac Co, They are buried in Metropolis.
Bessie's Father was William Faye. No Other information.
Sam and Bessie's children were: Donald Dixon Steele, James Steele, Edwin Steele and 2 others that died young, Rosemary and George. Don was my father. He lived in Tampa Fl.
James and Edwin moved to Mich.

Do you know if Margaret had children prior to her marrige to Bernard Lentz in 1887? I'm searching for a Maud/maude Amanda Fay/faye who was born 7/1/1878 and married herbert Salisbury in Clermont Iowa 10/4/1897 We have found another Maude fay, dau of John Fay in the same area at the same time, but no connection has been made. I think also that her middle name started with a M. scotty

My Grandfather Joseph Hooper disapeared after the death of his wife Annette (LaVertue) around 1940-41. He has two sons..Joseph (my father) and Gerald. I think he had a brother Gerald and a sister with the married last name of Faye (Fay). Any info would be greatly appreciated. They were from the Boston-New Hampshire area.

I found the name Faye to be popular in Ireland and England. There are several Irish genealogy websites which might be able to assist you. Since that was posted I verified the spelling to be Fay. A death notice from New York tells of Anne Fay's death three years before her daughter Margaret's marrage to Bernard. It also says that she was a widow of the late John Malone Fay which would make Margaret a orphan. A teenage orphan might have ridden the orphan train to Iowa to marry three years later.

It gives one something to think about, but little to cross check.

I don't think Margaret had any children before marrying Bernard. Though we have not verified her birth date we believe she was about 17 or 18 at the time of her marriage. Since she rode the orphan train from New York sometime in the 1870's we suspect she rode it as a teenager, perhaps at the death of her parents. Our research indicates that a John Fay traveled to America in 1847 on the ship Omega. We have no verifyable means to connect this John Fay with our Margrete Fay. In the 1870 cencus of New York I have found several Margrete Fays who either lived with a father John Fay or were living with families of other sir names. I know that if I talk to enough people sooner or later I will find the peices to put this puzzle together so it can be verified.

Wouldn't Maude be burried with Herbert in Clermont? If you seek the decendents of Maude You should be able to get the death date from the cemetary office and an obituary from the newspaper. The obit should list the next of kin, some of whom should be remembered by senior citizens of Clermont.

I would appreciate any info on John Fay you have so I can either make a connection or rule out one more John Fay.
