I am looking for the family of a Susan Jane Elizabeth Fayne Lancaster Harper (Hopper?). I believe her married name was Harper or Hopper. Her maiden name I believe was either Fayne or Lancaster. She was born Aug 7 1841 in Tennessee. Here is a story that has been passed down in the family. I would like to share it in hopes that someone may have her but not have her name so we can help each other on research of her:

W.C., a confederate in the Civil War under "Old Tig" was born in Johnson County, Arkansas, August 29 1841, the son of Leonard Jefferson and Betsy Dunavan Garrett. His father L.J., came from South Carolina before the removal of the Yamassee Indianas, who were later incorporated with the Creeks and Seminoles.
Mrs. Susan Jane Elizabeth Fayne Lancaster Hopper (Harper) lost her husband in the war and was waiting at the train depot (Ft. Smith? Ark) for her departure to her people in Tennessee when a soldier approached her and invited her to stay. She did. She became Mrs. W.C. Garrett, at Clarksville, Arkansas, October 14,1866. To this union were born seven children:

Mary S. "Mollie"-- Mrs. Lewis Smith, born July 28, 1867

Ewing Sylvester, born April 18,1869 married Alma Hamilton

Walter born March 17, 1871, married and passed away shortly thereafter.

Elizabeth K.--Mrs. Louis (Lewis) Marvel, born May 5 1873 Johnson County Ark.

Felix J. born March 19, 1876 married Anne Brock

Samuel A. born April 21, 1878 married Cora Orteg

Charles F. born July 27, 1880 married Lexia Bullard

The W.C. Garrett's came to Buckhorn, Indian Territory in the 1890's. Susan, being of Indian Lineage, applied for an allotment, but could not substantiate her claim, so in 1903, she and W.C. joined a west-bound covered wagon caravan and settled in the Shiloh community, right on the bank of Bull Creek in the "brakes" southwest of Erick, about a 1/2 mile from their son. Susan passed away there May 4, 1908.
Her and W.C. Garrett are buried in a small cemetery on private property called Garrett Cemetery.

It is unknown if she had any children from her first husband, if she did they never lived with her and her husband W.C. Garrett. Her parents are listed in the census's I have found her in as being born in South Carolina. Does anyone have an Unknown Female born 1841 in thier Lancaster or Fayne family records?

Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Kristen
