Hello - I just came upon your entry and would be interested in speaking with you. I believe I am related to you through Antoinette Florek. If it's the same one, her parents were Joseph and Sophia (Beben) Florek. I am related to the Bebens. My great-grandfather was Lawrence Beben, Sophia's older brother. Sophia lived with her brother in Fall River, Massachusetts when she first came to the US. I've spent many years trying to find out more about the Beben family, including the Florek branch through Sophia. I've love to talk with you more.

Thanks!
Ed Dzialo

I am looking for someone who is related to Gyorgy Fazekas who was born about 1962 in Hungary. His father was Jozsef and mother was Eva. I know he had a brother, but do not know his name. His wife, Mara (Mary)Berec, moved to St. Paul with their children abt 1909. I thought maybe they were related. I don't think they were. I found out that they went to St Paul because they heard a lot of Hungarians were there.

Marie married a Joseph Zinniel and had 12 children. A lot, I know. They were in and around Minnesota. I hope this is still familiar?

Julia came from Szirmabesenyo, Hungary on the OLympic circa 1922.I don't know if JOhn Fazekas was from Szirmabesenyo, but there were Fazekases there, because I found them in the Catholic church rcords that I got through the Mormon Church rcords at familysearch.org, by searching through placename type records, rentingthem through the local mormon reading room, and reading the microfilche there on their machines. Thank-you

Mara (Mary)Berec Fazekas and her four children moved to St. Paul, MN sometime between 1906 and 1909. Theresa Fazekas, widow of Martin Fazekas, was also in St. Paul at this time. Mary was married to Gjuro (George) Fazekas. She came to the United States 2 May 1906, from Hungary, with the children. George II, Rose (Roza), Antun Michael, and Mariska (Mary).
Mary was widowed sometime between 1906 and 1909.

George was born in Hungary abt 1862. Mara (Mary) Berec Fazekas was born in Hungary 14 Aug 1869. She died in St Paul 2 Jul 1956.

I am trying to find information on George and Mary. Was Theresa related to George somehow? When and where did George die? When did Mary and the children move to St Paul? Mary ran a boarding house and worked as a cook in a Hungarian restaurant in St Paul. I am trying to find the address of this boarding house. Mary is listed on 1033 Louth Ave in the 1912 City Directory. There is a Rose listed on Acker in the 1909 directory, none of the others are listed. Rose married Kalman Gerencer in 1909. He was a boarder in the boarding house where Rose lived.

Where in Hungary did your relatives come from? My father, Frank Fazekas, born 1890 in Viss, Hungary came to Cleveland, Ohio in 1925, later moved to Detroit, Mich. His father, Gyorgy, was born 1845 in Nyirbeltek, Hungary. Gyorgy married Maria Asztalos of Viss in 1870. Gyyorgy's parents were Janos Fazekas and Maria Belak both of Nyirbeltek. Any help tracing my Fazekas/Belak/Asztalos/Duncsak family tree would be appreciated.
Frank J. Fazekas
I am looking for any information on my Grandfather Ernest Fazekas. I dont have much information on him. My mother doesnt know much about her father as she was hidden from him. I know he was in the military and I know he had a sister named Anne. He was married to a Gladys Hauenstein from Minnesota and she may have been known as Lavonne Hart. He had a daughter (my mother) Nancy Fazekas and she was born in Kentucky in 1942 but I am not sure that was where she was conceived. I think he Ernest was born in 1923 but again I am not sure. I dont know his parents name and I dont know if he had any brothers. He was born in Illinois from what I have been told.

I don't know if I am doing this correctly or not, but here goes.
My father immigrated from Sabolcz/Kisvarda in 1928. He was the only one of his family to come to Canada. He left behind his father and mother, Joseph and Mary, and eight sibblings, two sisters and six brothers. Along with my father, all are deceased. He went back to visit right after the revolution in 1956, and saw them for the last time. I know that some of the names were Louis, Alex, and Steve. The mother's maiden name was Tyrol. There ought to be a bunch of my cousins out there somewhere.
SJF

She died in 1938. She may have been from Perbenyik, which was in Zemplen County, Hungary. This town is now Pribenik, Slovak Republic. I do not know her parents names. Is there a Fazekas viewing this who had Fazekas relatives in Perbenyik or in Zemplen County?
