Thomas Hamer (1852-1889) married Hannah Hibbert (1848-1917) in All Souls' Church in Manchester, England. They had two sons, Walter (1883-1967) and Thomas (1886 - ?) . Walter married Lillian Belle Lerman in 1910. They lived, first in New Jersey, then in California and had three children, Ruth Hamer, Florence Hamer, and my father, Walter Hamer.

Hannah Hibbert was the oldest daughter of William Hibbert, who according to the 1881 British Census, was married to a woman named Mary, born around 1827 in Dukinfield, Cheshire, England. They had three other children besides Hannah: Emma (1851±), George (1856±) and Abel (1860±). At the time of the census, they lived in Beswick, Lancashire, England.

I don't know if the Mary who married this William Hibbert is the one you are researching. In my research, I did find a Mary FAY who married a William Hibbert, 29 November 1840, Cathedral, Manchester, Lancashire.
