Could you clarify which invasion you are referring to as Alexander arrived in America in 1898 and that he spent some time in France before that. Do you have information about area the family was from? We are very interested in knowing more about Hagop and Sophia his parents.

Thank you

Feay - Manchester, England

I am trying to find out more about my ancestors William and Margaret Feay who turn up in the Manchester, Lancashire, England records around 1790 - no trace of Feays in that area before then. I am descended through their son John b. 1795 and his daughter, Mary, b. ca 1822. Mary married William Hibbert. I am slowly adding more info. on this Manchester family through the generations, but would love to know where they originated. Diana Hibbert Bailey (dhbailey@sympatico.ca), Canada.

My William is indeed the one who married Mary Fay at Manchester Cathedral - this is the only place the Fay spelling is used - every other record shows it as Feay from ca 1790 up to the present descendents of male lines.
So it looks like your William and mine are from different lines. My Wm. was the son of Joseph b. ca 1799, Lancashire, and Ann ??who d. ca 1828. I have found nothing further on Joseph and Ann, except that Joseph m. 2) Ellen Clare.
Sorry I can't be of more help. I would like to add more to my Hibbert line - it is my maiden name.
Diana.

Levi Feay / Fay

I am looking for information concerning Levi
Feay - born abt 1783 in Maryland, married in
Washington Co, Maryland to a Mary McCoy on
Dec 19, 1814. I think she was his second
wife. He had a son, Samuel Alexander Feay
born in 1804, and a daughter, Esther, born
in 1809. I think his father might be a
John Thomas Fay, in Kent Co, Maryland in the
1790 Census, but I am having trouble finding
more substantial proof. Thanks for any help.
cynthia

Levi Feay

Yes! I am very interested. I am trying to
find his father. I found a marriage index
of Washington Co, Maryland, showing him
marrying Mary McCoy in Dec 1814, but he had
2 kids before then. I don't know who he
married before, if the index was incorrect
and it should have been 1804, except he
still had one child before Dec 1804.
I found a John Thomas Fay in Kent Co,
Maryland in the 1790 census, but I haven't
been able to figure out if he is Levi's
father.
Any information you have would be
appreciated!

cynthia
HIBBERTS & HAMERS

Thomas Hamer (1852-1889) married Hannah Hibbert (1848-1917) in All Souls' Church in Manchester, England. They had two sons, Walter (1883-1967) and Thomas (1886 - ?) . Walter married Lillian Belle Lerman in 1910. They lived, first in New Jersey, then in California and had three children, Ruth Hamer, Florence Hamer, and my father, Walter Hamer.

Hannah Hibbert was the oldest daughter of William Hibbert, who according to the 1881 British Census, was married to a woman named Mary, born around 1827 in Dukinfield, Cheshire, England. They had three other children besides Hannah: Emma (1851±), George (1856±) and Abel (1860±). At the time of the census, they lived in Beswick, Lancashire, England.

I don't know if the Mary who married this William Hibbert is the one you are researching. In my research, I did find a Mary FAY who married a William Hibbert, 29 November 1840, Cathedral, Manchester, Lancashire.

If you have any information related to the Hamers or Hibberts (or Lermans) mentioned above, I'd love to hear it.

Who is your husbands relation? Or better yet, how is he related to A and H? I am interested to know as we must be related. Also, have many stories of events that took place during the invasion and their escape from Armenia.

Levi Feay

In response to Cynthia Grace, I have also
been looking for ancestry of Levi Feay.
(b 1783 in Maryland)
On the internet I found Benard Feay in
England who says the only Feays there are
related. He discovered some Feays in Canada who are
also related to each other. My search of
MacKay (Mary McCoy) shows the clan was
driven out of Scotland about the time of the
Napoleonic wars and were scattered into
Canada, America, Australia, New Zealand
and south Africa.
There is also the Family name: Reay in this
clan (served in Ireland).
It is possible Levi was not in the MacKay clan
but if he was this information may be of value.

Chris Feay-Hagopian (daughter of Everett Feay)
e-mail: dwhag@iti2.net
