I'm looking for information about Gelo Febles accordionist from Ponce and he play with Tonin Romero every sundays on the Radio WPAB (el conjunto de Gelo Febles). I am also from ponce, puerto rico. My family is from ponce, puerto rico. My grandfather was named damaso febles santiago.
unfortunely i don't have much information just that his father was born in spain. I am trying to find information about the febles family name.

My name is Angel Febles, the family you mention below is related to my family in Manati Puerto Rico. In fact ALL the Febles are related as it is a relatively small family. But to answer your question my parents (both passed away)knew William, Manolin, Efrain as well as Pedro Febles etc. My grandmother (who is still alive) knows all the Febles in Barceloneta and across Puerto Rico. I can help answer your questions via my grandmother on any of our kin below...

Hi, I was looking through and saw your post. I had a grandfather who passed in September 2007 whose name was Ramon Febles. I know he owned a bull for a long time. He is also from Manati actually Cortes. I know in that area there are tons of Febles' everytime I go I meet new relatives. I will ask my father about our family history. I also have an uncle named William a tia Ida and tia Carmella (Carmen) that still in Manati. I hope this is a connection. I was always told that the Febles' was a very big family but where I am from (Rochester, NY) there aren't many of us.

the last name febles was changed from lefebere when they came to the state. their originally came from france. I hope this will help. MY name is Celso S. Febles III.

Looking for information on my distant family.

Nicolasa de San Hernegildo Febles (my great grandmother) was born 1886 in Canary Islands, Spain. She was married to Manuel Ismael Reyes (my great grandfather) born 1885 in Canary Islands, Spain. They immigrated to Uruguay and had four children: Severa, Maria, Adriano, and Juan.

Any help on anyone would be appreciated.

Hola,mi abuela por parte de padre fue Maria Luisa Febles.Creo que su apellido materno fue Vega o de La Vega no estoy seguro,pues Ella fue conocida for inventar nombres cuando estaba anciana.Mi abuelo,su esposo,fue Ramon Rodriguez,quien fallecio en Cuba en 1950 de un ataque del corazon.Maria Luisa fallecio en La Habana en 1976,en un hospital en El Vedado, de Neumonia...Sus hijos fueron Ramon,Roberto(mi papa),Conchita,Maruja,Olga y la que fuera esposa de Vidal. I really would like to know something about the Febles name. We barely know about it. My mom's name is Pilar Febles and we live in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico.

Hi Nancy. I'm a Febles as well, and my family is from Manati. I know some Febles that have an ice cream store in Vega Baja and Barceloneta. I know they are relatives of mine, and I was wondering if they might be your relatives as well, which would mean we (you and me) are relatives. I don't exactly remember their first names, but I know they live in Tierras Nuevas, Manati.

Seeking Felix and Maria Febles

I would appreciate anyone that can shed some light on the whereabouts of Felix and Maria Febles. They are brother and sister. Maria and I were friends when I lived in Meriden, Conn. and she and I lost touch when I moved to Miami, FL.
Felix graduated from Francis T. Maloney High School in the early or mid 70's and I believe Maria did too. Their ancestry is originally from Puerto Rico.
I don't know if they are still living in Meriden, Conn., but they still were in 1979 when I left.

My last name is Febles. I'm glad I'm reading your post three years later. I hope I never get lost, much less have you look for me because the method you use to find people obviously doesn't work. I don't have a bull, I have a dog if that helps, because if you follow the bull you might end up in Spain. Please make up your mind where the family Febles come from, if it is from Barceloneta, Manati, or in between. If you want to compare families, if you have three more retarded brothers then we might be on the right track. So take care, hope you pass your test, try to be a good lawyer, because you're a lousy detective. My last name is Febles but my family is Cuban all of French/Spaniard descent. From what I know my grandfathers parents migrated to Cuba in the late 1800's early 1900's, where they lived in Marianao and La Habana.. I am now living in Miami, FL.

My grandmother Maria Febles died in Puerto Rico August 30, 1935 or 1931 she had two brothers Henry who recently passed away and Kermet who is still alive. I believe they were born in or near Ponce. My mother came to New York as a teenager.

Thank you for your response. It would be great find some new relatives and try to build a family tree. I have two uncles Kermit and Enrique. Enrique recently passed away about a year or so ago. He had a daughter Sylvia who also lives in Puerto Rico and a son named Ralph. They had a sister who is my mother her name is Clara Febles Vila. Her mother is buried in I believe in Ponce or somewhere nearby I saw a picture of the tombstone it read Maria Febles August 30, 1931 or 1935 as a date of death. My mother was born I believe in Ponce October 24,1924-26. She stated her father's last name was Vila. If you could be so kind has to lead me in the right direction as to how to find a birth certificate for my mother and a death certificate for my granadmother as well as any children she may have had. I read your message my mther is 78 years old and really doesn't have that much info but I do remember her telling me she thought that my Granfather was from spain. A far as I know she has always said her maiden name was Vila and also Febles which is common to take on from her both her parents, a little confusing for me thanks fors your efforts they seem to be so far the most credible that I have received. I'll ask my mother about "Rosario Febles"

My Mom was born in Pomne Puerto Rico however I have received some info that my Grandfather by the Name of Febles Vega originated from Spain with his brother Diego, my Mothers surname was Clara Febles Villa not Vega. I hope this is of some help to you, kind of confusing to me, thanks for your reply.

I am going to try to get some info of the 4 o 5 generation, because I think the branch of Febles of Puerto Rico are originated in Tenerife - Spain. So, it will be nice to find the old roots. Anyway, will apreciate any other post that guide us to clear registry. Thanks again, Jesus

Anyone from P.R. with same last name. My father's name is William Febles, and his mother's maiden name was Bruno. He comes from Baceloneta (not sure of spelling) and he had brothers Manolin and Efrain. He had a brother who drown when they were little about 50 years or so ago. Any one knows any of these people, lets talk and compare.

I was surfing the net and I came across your response to my email dated in 2000. My father's family all come from Manati. In addition to his brothers, he has several sisters, one who is still living and in P.R. This one is called Mango, she used to live in NYC until a few years ago after selling her grocery store and moving back to PR with her daughter, Nena, whose husband passed away. His other sister is called Mango, and another sister called Flora. I'm trying to find out what his mom and dad's name are. I think he had an uncle named Ramon, who used to own a bull in the 1960's. He passed around 1970-75 or so. Any connections???

I asked my dad and he says that the person that knew all these relatives passed away last year. Her name was Rosario Febles. However, my dad tells me that Maria was my grandfather's cousin and he passed away last year too. He says that Diego Febles Vega and his brothers (Maria's father) were from Spain. I wish you could see an old picture of them at my grandfather's house.

Are you sure that your that your grandfather's surname was Vila and not Vega?

If you would like copies of the certificates I have an idea where I can get them. Also, I got you a copy of the phone book with all the numbers of the Febles relatives. Like I said, there are not so many.

My grandfather was Carlos Febles Vega and I believed I heard him once mentioning those two names as relatives of his. I just happen to stumble on this web site and by curiosity found your message. However, if you are really looking for info I may be able to help you. I am actually living in Ponce and let me tell you that Febles is not a very common surname in town.
