I saw your post on Ancestry. I have a great grandmother Mary (maria)born 12/6/1892 in Csicko Hungary(this is what it said on the ellis island ship manifest) she came at the age of 14 into Passaic NJ in sept 1906 and was going to join her father Istvan (which is Steven in USA) I do know that when she died in 6/1960 her Newspaper Obit said she had a brother Joseph in Cleveland Ohio. I belong to another group called Dvhh and they said most people who went into Passaic NJ where not from the Banat area. I would love to know if you have any more info to share.

Laura,
I now have access to some information as well as some questions that I have. I have documentation for you grandfather, John E. Feher, whose birthdate and death date are as you indicated. However, I have questions regarding his name and birthplace. Some documentation that I have indicates that the "E" for his middle name was either Emil, Edward, or just the initial "E." Do you happen to know his real middle name or initial? Also I have some indication that he may have been born in either Pennsylvania or Ohio; do you have any documentation for his birthplace. How many children did John E. and Mildred P. Feher in addition to your father John R.? Who did your father marry and how many brothers and sisters do you have?

Unfortunately, I do not have any birthdates for Rose Valenta or Rudy Pansky.

I have the same birthdate information for Anna C. Feher, but I have the impression that she was born in United, PA. If you have any documentation that she was born in Tarr, PA, that would be appreciated. I have some documentation that she died September 12, 1973 in Euclid, Ohio.

Your Great-Grandfather's father was named John or Jan Feher/Fejer who was born in Austria-Hungary, September 19, 1856. He died May 22, 1904, presumably in Connellsville, PA and was buried at a Roman Catholic Cemetary in New Haven, PA on May 24, 1904. His wife, Amelia/Amalia Novotny Feher, was born in Austria-Hungary on June 10, 1856. She died in Connellsville, PA on December 1939.

A distant relative of ours is doing more genealogical research in Austria-Hungary (the present day Slovak Republic). I will forward new information as I am able to sort it out.

Do any Feher family members currently live in the 3424 East 52nd Street home in Cleveland?

Thanks for your information. I look forward to working with you to track down our family roots.

Sherman Feher

I have some information

Greetings. I am the granddaughter of John E. Feher. My grandfather was born December 12, 1908. Laid to rest May 29, 1986. His father John (my great grandfather) was born in Austria, Hungary February 17, 1883. His wife Anna C. Fabian was born February 4, 1887 in Tarr, PA. Thanking you in advance for any and all consideration shown to my family's memory and any documentation you're able to provide. My father was John R. Feher born October 27, 1938 passed October 8. 2000.
My beloved grandmother Mildred Pauline (nee Pansky) was born July 6, 1913 in Cleveland on Caleb Court. Her family was Bohemian. They built a home with the help of other Bohemians from the Bohemian National Hall (East 49th & Broadway) on a double lot at 3424 & 3426 East 52nd Street, Cleveland. This home would eventually see four generations of the Feher family come and go for 100 years.
My grandmother's mother name was Rose Valenta. She married Rudy Pansky. I am searching for their birthdates.

Hello,

We are searching for our relatives in USA. My grandfather's name is Alan Feher (Aladar). He was a great violinist/shoemaker. His father's name was Andras Feher, who was also a shoemaker. Andras had a brother named Istvan and two sisters (all believed to have migrated to America whilst Andras came to Australia). Istvan had a son who died at 10, and two daughters, ilona and catalin/katalin. They would be in their 40's or 50's now.

I'm just taking a wild stab here. On 2 documents I have on my Hungarian Family it mentions a "Istvan Feher". My grandfather Bela Lepold lists him as his cousin on his immigration records.

Also, he is living with him in Horgos right before he immigrated to America. Again, he's listed as living with his brother Janos with Istvan Feher"

Any of you Feher's recognize these family names?

Feher/Kasony Family Information

Hello, My Grandfather Michael Feher was born in Nagyvarod, Hungary which is now Oradea, Romania, in 1905, and emigrated through Phil, PA in 1908 with his family. Great Grandfathers name was Samuel Feher. Grandmother Ann Kasony Feher was from/born in Humenne, Presovksy Kraj, Slovakia (1915). Any other information you might be able to shed on the family tree would be a big help. I am also trying to find out what county that would have been in when it was still part of Hungary.
