Orville,
I haven't done much genealogy work in the last several months, so your response is giving me a chance to dust it all off and to get my thoughts going again.
Your grandfather John had 4 brothers and a sister. His brother Frank L Loneman was my great grand father. So my great great grandfather & mother were your great grandfather & mother...John Bernard & Anna Marie Loneman.
The name Loneman, Lonneman, and even Lonnemann have all been used interchangeably in obituaries, legal wills, and letters to describe the relatives of our big German family.
My great grand father, Frank L. had a brother August, who moved to Armour, South Dakota in 1899 and lived there for 24 years, raising a family before moving back to Carroll, Iowa to marry Frank's wife after he died.
Your father Antone had a brother Paul, which should be your uncle. In 1990 or 1993 I drove up to Little Rock and met with him for an afternoon. We talked as much family history as he could remember...he even had me drive him out to the old farm place!!! It was great! He and I never met before that!
I don't have much time left tonight but definitely would want to speak to you some more.
I will be in Sioux Falls for a meeting. I am driving up tomorrow (Tuesday) for a meeting that runs from 8am - 4:30pm Wednesday then heading back to Carroll.
I am staying at the Baymont Inn at 4100 South Western Avenue. I may just give you a call on Tuesday evening if I can find your number and can get away. I will bring some family history information and family tree with me just in case.
Sincerely,
Matt Loneman
