The reason I am wondering is because my Feige family married a Theinert and this Feige (see link above) found in Baltimore also married a Theinert. Seems like they must be related somehow.

Your family who is originally from Lithuania is not related to the Feiges from Schwarzenau. They were in Westfalen as far back as the 1600's. I suspect that your Feiges' name is from a female whose first name was Feige and the family is probably Jewish. I would suggest that you look at JewishGen.org for more information.

My Feiges family came from Lithuania/Latvia and went to Chicago area where there seems to be a varst family tree.I am not sure where they came from before Lithuania,and I often wonder where they got this name? So maybe there is a conection.How far are you able to trace back?

My Feige family came from the town of Schwarzenau in Germany. They immigrated to America and settled in Baltimore, Maryland. I know that one of my Feige's married into the Renno Family who still lives in Germany today. We have visited them. Does any of these facts sound familiar?

My gt gt grandfather was Issac or Eisak Feiges and his sister was Tilly, they came from Lithuania and the family were hat makers in Vilnius.I have managed to trace them back quite a long way.My grandmother was Bertha Feiges.I would love to hear from you since it seems that we arefrom the sme family.

Hi,

my grandfather was born in the USA: Gustav-Adolf Feige - he traveled alone to Germany, and after his father died and he died, any contact to US-Family was lost. We don´t have a bloodline/genealogy - mayby any "Feige" knows my grandfather.

I don't know if this will help, but my Feige family settled in Pittsfield, MA and some of them ended up in Auburn, NY. Maybe there's a link to Rochester in there somewhere.

In search of info on my gr.grandomther Adeline Feige Kummer,
b.about 1877 in Posen, Germany (Prussia.) 1920 census shows
her Great Bend, Kansas, married to Karl Kummer, w/9 children:
Helen, Walter, Anna, Herman (my grandfather,) Edwin, Arnold,
Gertrude, Martha and Clara. Posen is now Poznan, Poland.
Adeline Feige may heve lived w/ brother or uncle (Feige?) in
Dodge City, Kansas, prior to marriage about 1900/1901. Any
info greatly appreciated.

Long time to reply to this but, Richard was a worker for the post office. I think he was tall (hard to tell in picture) I have no picture of Jenny. Richard had 3 other brothers and was named after his father. If looking for census info try Richard Fiege. it was misspelled in either the 1920 or 30's.

i am sure this has to be one of her relatives--I don't have that much information on her--August Feige born in 1851 in Germany died in 1882 in Spearville, Kansas--Buried at Zion Lutheran Church in Dodge City (I have seen her grave my randparents live down the street from the cemetary) she married a August Kregar in 1871 in Hanover Germany---This has to be one of her relatives---because spearville is near dodge city---I will print this out--and ask my dad and see if he knows--please email me your email address--so we can keep in contact--thanks for all your help--Emilie

Do you know if Augusta had any other relatives in the Spearville area? My g.grandmother, Adeline Feige, was born in 1871, and came to Dodge City, Kansas in 1899 from Posen, Prussia. She lived with her uncle, Gottfried Bohnstengel, before marrying my g.grandfather, Carl Kummer. Feige is an uncommon name, and Spearville is only a few miles from Dodge City, so I'm wondering if there was a connection.

FEIGE(N) ist westmitteldeutsch und niederdeutsch in der Regel Kurzform des seit dem 11. Jahrhundert um sich greifenden Vornamens SOPHIA. Die Kurzform FYE, PHIA ist seit dem 14. Jahrhundert da, seit dem 15. Jahrhundert verbreitet sich die Form FIGE (auf hochdeutsch "Phiechen").

My wife's great-great-grandparents are Ludwig Carl Feige and Anna Elisabeth Lueckel. One of their children was Caroline Emilie Feige (wife's great-grandmother). Caroline had a brother, Ludwig (Louis) Carl Feige, who was born 7/6/1861. The family was from Wemlinghausen, Germany. The family settled in Louisville, KY. Louis Carl Feige (b. 7/6/1861) married Mary Pfeiffer. If this looks like the right person, I have all the information on the Feiges.

Jenny and Richard Feige lived in Oakland. CA They died in the 40's. No issue. Richard was my grandfather's (William) brother.I remember little about them; he was a retired postal worker and had a glass eye.
