You are the first one! I have a public tree on Ancestry called "Schlegel_Feitner". I have some circumstantial evidence my line may be descended from Jacob Feitner and Margaretta Hoffman. You should also be able to message me so we can exchange information.

Thank you!

Hi- I am not descended from Henry Feitner b.1752 Ebertsheim who came to Pennsylvania, however, I am descended from a line of Feitners from the same geographical area in the Rhine region who I know were stone masons. Rumor in my line was that they owned a quarry in Germany prior to coming to New York in 1848, but they definitely practiced as stone masons in the USA. There is another line of Feitners from NYC who were tied to George Washington - you can find some of that in Google books. Would love to collaborate on trying to link the lines in the old country.

Hi all- I am not a descendant of this Henry Feitner(aka Feightner m. Barbara Lukens), who was born in Ebertsheim, Germany and came to Pennsyvlania pre-Revolutionary War, but many of you out there are.

My Feitner (aka Feidner) line is from the same town, and had the same profession in Germany - stone masons. However, my ancestor, John Feitner, came to Brooklyn, New York after the 1848 revolutions in Germany. Wondering if anyone out there has information on any of Henry's parents, siblings, cousins, etc., and is willing to work together to connect some dots?

Thank you.

I believe that Elizabeth's 1/2 brother Michael married Joseph's sister Mariah. Michael & Mariah were my g-g-g-g-grandparents. They relocated to Henry County Ohio. I know little about Elizabeth & Jospeh other than the names of their children (4) with birth/death dates. If that would be helpful, I'll be glad to share it.

Bill

I also noticed that the obituary for Harvey Krieg states that Richard Feightner will officiate. The funeral home might have a location for Richard. Funeral home: Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home for Funerals. Harvey's died Feb. 9, 2002.

I would also hope there is someone out there that can tell me what happened to Henry, born 1840 in Ohio, married to one Susan Duffy, daughter of John Duffy and Catherine Manley. Irvin, Alminie, Anthony, Leorian, Bertha and Daisy were their children. The last place I trace him is to the 1880 census. After that he and Susan disappear. If anyone knows what happened to them I would appreciate an email at:
DeborahSofich@msn.com.
Dawn,
Yes that's who I'm looking for, but I believe that should only be Huff not Huffand. I believe that is a misprint. I believe they wrote Susanna Huff and George Feightner. I'm going to Wayne Co. this summer and this is one I'm going to look up. Do you have her parents. My email is lsimons8@cox.net if you want to email me directly. Linda

Dear Vicki: There was a Mary Feitner, daughter of Joseph Feitner, son of Abraham Feitner, son of Henry Feitner(1752-1827). Henry came from Germany to America before the Rev War, and fought with the "Pennsylvania Line" during the war. Henry had 3 children; Abraham, John, and Elizabeth. The Abraham line went to Ohio area, and the John line stayed in PA. The Abraham line can be traced in the USCensus as "Feightner"-------it wasn't popular to be German so the name was "Anglicized". I'm from the "Fichtner Line" from Germany to Lancaster Area of PA, then to Vaughan Township, Ontario, Canada, then to Michigan----whose name was changed in Canada for the same reason as "Feitner". I have a family tree of Henry Feitner, no dates, just branches that I'd share with you, if you are interested. Happy Hunting

I have an excellant history of this line- have visited the original homestead of Abraham. Now I am looking for the family of Abrahams son, Joseph and Elizabeth Wolf. Does anyone know who Elizabeth's parents were or her siblings. She and Joseph Deightner were married Sept 31835 in Wayne Co. Ohio. Their daughter,Rachel Margaret Feightner was my great grandmother.

I am looking for any information on the feightner family that lived in Lockbourne,Ohio, franklin county. I am told they owned a large portion of the land that is now the town of Lockbourne. They lived there in the late 1930's to 1940's at least and moved then to California. The female of the couple I am looking for was named Molly Wheeler but I am unsure of Mr. Feightner's first name, if any of this is familiar, please let me know. Thanks

I doubt that there is any relationship between Feig and Feightner. There are 2 lines of Feightners----one Feitner---Henry Feitner came from Germany and fought with the Pennsylvania Line in the Revolutionary War, and about 1800, the descendents Anglecized the name to Feightner. The other Fichner, my line, came from Germany to Lancaster, PA, like the Feitners, then John Fichner of Lancaster, PA, emigrated to Vaughn Twp, York Co, Ontario, Canada, and like the Feitners, Anglicized the name to Feightner. "Fichner" means those who live by the spruce trees. I'm not sure what "Feitner" means. Good Luck ccf
