My husband is descended from Maria Feil/Feyl. The family was Roman Catholic. Maria was born abt. 1857 in Opatovice, Bohemia, lived in Bare (which was a street or a town name) and married Joannes Brezina, a woodsman in November 12 of 187l.
Maria had a half brother, Josephus Schvartz that raised her son Antun following the death of Joannes Brezina in a tree cutting accident. The area where they lived was for a time Croatia and later a part of Austrian empire.

Wow! That might fit into the clan

Did any of them have a daughter
named Marija (we think) born about 1845
She had sons, one named Antun and at least one daughter.
aka Anton, Anthony, Antoni, etc?)

Initally was married to a man who was a blacksmith, named Brezina who was killed in we believe 1888.
And then she remarried a German man, possibly named Hammacheck (?spelling)

Son, Anton was born 5 May 1879 in Zdenci, Orahovica Croatia
traveled to Pennsylvania, United States of America in Feb 1903

She most likely was the daughter of a Josephus Feyl/Feil

Looking forward to your reply.
Josiah was born Jan. 7, 1907 in Garrett Co., MD, and died July 22, 1952 (presumably in Butler Co., PA). Mildred was born Sept. 14, 1910 in PA and died April 1982 in Mars, Butler Co., PA. They had two children: Alberta Marie Sims (b. May 1, 1931) and Harland Eugene Sims (b. Aug. 2, 1940 in MD; d. March 25, 1988 in OH).

I know Alberta had at least two children: Cheryl Sue Lester and Robin Lester. I know Harland had at least three children: Douglas R. Sims, Eugene W. Sims and Pamela J. Sims. Harland's wife's first name was Patricia.

I am searching for obituaries, birth information, marriage information, etc. on anyone in this family.

If you can help, please contact me. Magdalena (Martha) immigrated later with her grandparents. She married Martin French. Charlie French was my father's cousin. Many of the Feil and French family members worked in the Monument Mills in Gt. Barrington, MA. I would be happy to correspond with you regarding the Feil family history. Lisa

My husband and I have looked over the LDS filmstrips of records for the Roman Catholic Church. He has had remarkable success at finding some family information, but the farther back you go in the record books the more Latin you will find and the fancy script that is as you mention difficult to understand. Please keep me posted as you learn more about the Feil ancestry. Thanks, Julie

My husband's great grandmother was Marija Feil who married Ivan Brezina and lived in Zdenci, Austria-Hungary (at the time). We think she may be descended from the Wurtenberg Feil's but have no way to research this as we have no exact birth records. Can you help with any suggestions on a researcher that might assist or recommend some resources to try? Julie

My grandfather Karl Josef Feil (now Fill) was born in Vienna on November 4th 1892 to parents Mathias Feil (Hungarian) and Celestine Wellaba (Vienniese) all of whom moved to England in 1900. If anyone has come across these names your help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Robert Jerin from the Rootsweb list told us that the name which was initially read by Vladimir Brezina as Joan Brezina
(John) could also be interpreted as Ivan. We have found one Ivan Brezina that lived in Texas and apparently was in Virginia prior to the time of his death. Anyone from Virginia familiar with the Brezina's? Ivan or John? or with Maria Feil.
Please email juliejb@ptd.net or jlbbachman@juno.com

Feil family from Bohemia

Hello, I have in my fille next information:
Feil Anton (1860) and Feil Michael Ignatz (1854) both cabinet makers and sons of Feil Ignatz (1823) and Margaretha Gutterer (1828) emmigrated from Domazlice area to USA before 1880. Next siblings: Barbora (1856), Margaretha (1858), Frantiska (1865) and Karel (1867) perhaps stayed in Bohemia. Domazlice area is in southwest of Bohemia and lot of emmigrants from this area settled down in Wisconsin and Minnesota. Are they your ancestors???
All the best from Czech.

I am looking for my grandmother's history and have hit a dead end. Her name was Lulu Anna Feil. Born 11/11/1893. Married David Jerome Hennessey. Died 9/30/1935 in Joliet, Illinois.
Two children: Mary Louise (my mother) and David Jr. I have a copy of her death certificate but it is very fuzzy. It appears her father may have been Henry Feil and her mother Eliza Voss?? All of them are from Illinois, probably in or around Joliet. She was buried 10/3/1935 in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Will County, Joliet, Illinois. I would greatly appreciate any help. Thankyou.

But, other family members went to North America and to Brazil.
It's too early in our research to know the names of the relatives that went to Brazil.
Hi,

Hoping someone can help me out. I just started my family history and have already ran into a snag. I can only go back 3 generations before my family came over from Germany ( I think). My great aunt just told me she gave my gg grandfathers original passport away to either a historical or genealogy society. I just about cried. Anyway if any of you have any info regarding a George Feil from Minnesota DOB 1864, it would be great to hear from you. I am told he and his four brothers came over to the United States, and once they got to NY, they split up.

Never know there where so many Feil's out there. Thought I was the only one. Glad to see there are so many.

Thanks,

Jen

Thanks for writing back - my records show that Catherine Elizabeth (known as Elizabeth) was born in the Hesse Darmstadt region. Both her and her husband were born in 1814, she is March. She married George Datt. If we can find out that she and Peter were siblings, I do have her family that I can share with you. I have searched FamilySearch.org as much as I could and found nothing. I couldn't find anything on a Peter either. Good luck with your research! Gloria
