I heard that the name meant enemy. It came from Feint giving to two feuding brothers. There is a woman in New England states that was researching the families. They came from Germany to Canada. We came directly to Ohio from Bavaria and could find no direct connection with them because we needed a town which we don't have yet. Anyone know Neustate inj Maards? If I spelled it correctly.
I knew LaVerne. She lived 3 miles from me. We shared research. Her husband was related to me also through the Youngs on my mother's side. This place is thick with family. I have all the info on the families. Pictures that my grandmother gave to Dad and I researched the whole family because it was not very many generations away and right in the neigborhood. My name was Linda Ann Feindel. I had seven brothers and sisters. My great Aunt lived across from me and her 3 sons each had houses right next to her in farms . My dad's only brother lived on a farm next to ours. So I know all about family. I'm related to most of the people here.
Hope to hear from you. My address is 7879 N. Twp. Rd 72. I'm before computers too and I don't rely on them for everything I still write alot. Hope to hear from you. Linda Wildman

I have a feindel family tree going back to 1710 when George Jacob Feindel was born in Zweibrucken Germany. He sailed from Rotterdam, arriving in Lunenburg on September 6 1752 after a 93 day voyage aboad the ship 'GALE'. In the book 'Newburne, Then and Know (1837-1987)' there is a map of the original Feindel land tract (100 acres). Alberta (and Josephine) was the son of John Henry Feindel (1810-1875) (and Louisa ?). As far as I can tell, they had five children, Charlotte, Maggie, Bertie, Henry, and William. While my family tree was done by other family members anyone wishing a copy can have it.

I got the info from a lady in Maine (?) who was doing research on the Feindel's. My Dad met her on a trip for Maple Syrup Producers in the 80's I think. She wanted to connect us all up but I needed to find the link in germany. My Nicolas Feindel was from Bavaria. It sounds as if his father was the only parent when he was a teen. He had a sister, no name. They said he ran away, hid on a freighter and got caught then sold as an indentured servant. Hopefully Philidalphia. I still have to find his records if fact. This may have been around 1831. Indentured are usually 5 yrs and 7 at most. He is found in Stark Co in 1837 when he marries. He's not in the 1830c Pa.
So he must have come in between. He was b1803 I think. Don't have the info handy. My maiden name is Feindel. German was spoken a bit in my home but not alot because their parents stopped teaching them when WWI broke out and it was forbidden for them to speak or write German in the schools or churches. Neither of my grandparents spoke German. He moved to Seneca Co, Ohio in 1838-9. I have all the family of his (children)but I need to find records in Penn. It's locating them that's hard. (indentured servatuded). Thank you. Linda

This family is not connected to any of the Feindel's elsewhere. Nicolas is the founder of the Feindel's in Seneca Co, Ohio. He came directly from Bavaria c1831 if his story is correct. He married in Stark Co to Catherine Neibergall and had Barbara there. Then they moved a year after 1838 to Seneca Co. I'm fifth generation born from this family and his second wife Catherine Peter. Have more if you want. Still trying to find out where he came in. Need to get indentured servitude records in Penn. Alot of the Feindel's have Canadian connections where alot of imigration was encouraged to populate the place.

The name I have is John Albert Feindel and his wife is Josephine MacKay.

I remember her when I was a kid as she would knit mittens for my brother and myself, even tho she was blind. She is buried in the family lot in Wakefield, MA. Not sure of the date. They had many children, my grandfather beinf one. William B. Feindel wholived to be 105. His mother was 101 when she passed on.

What type of information would you like ?

You can reply to me at wfeindel@aol.com

William B.
