Re: Children of Henry Felgar?????????

My Henry Felgar was born about 1817 in Pennsylvania. He married Catharine who died in 1894. They lived in Saltlick Twp, Fayette County, PA. He had a daughter who must have died in/shortly after childbirth (of Omert Quinter McCauley Stewart in 1879),who married Matthew Stewart. Elizabeth Felgar, who married Milton Brooks, was born about 1840. James Felgar was there son, born about 1856. Catherine Felger was born in 1861 and married John Hook Ridgeway.

Do we have any mutual relatives?

Hello Pamela,

It's great to hear from you. No, "my" Allen Felger was married to Nettie Shafernocker. He was the brother of my Great-grandfather Francis Felger. I'm still researching my Felger line and it's possible I just haven't found "your" Allen Felger yet. However, if he is from the Columbiana/Mahoning County area, he's most definitely related. ALL the Felgers around East Palestine are related.

If you have any information you can provide on your Father's Felger line, I would greatly appreciate it. It might help me make that connection. In the meantime, you could view my tree. My Tree is currently private, but I can give you viewing rights if you would like. Please let me know.

Debbie

Hi Gloria,
My name is Debra Felger and I live in East Palestine, Ohio, which is not that far from New Castle. There is a Merlin Felger in my tree and I am still trying to find information on him. I believe he descended from my great-grandfather Francis Felger's brother, Allen. If any of this sounds familiar to you, please contact me. I just started delving into my roots this past summer.

Debbie

Dear Phyllis,
Am so sorry that I did not find your message earlier but was busy working on the FelgerFest 2000, held in Fort Wayne the end of September. Would love to exchange information regarding Brecht's and Rau's. I have been working on the Felger Family Tree for a long time and Rosina has always been a one that I could not find any information on. She is mentioned in her Father and Mother's last will and testaments. Casper was executor of her Mother, Rosina' will. At the present time I am working on an updated version of the Felger Family Tree Book as we had always thought that just the two brothers, Jacob and Christopher came to America. Recently we discovered that their younger sister, Wilhelmina also came. The Fort Wayne Library does have my book with the information I have researched available.
Hoping to hear from you soon .

I am looking for any info or possible connection to a Margaret Felger who was married to August Feldhaus. Margaret Felger's parents were August Felger and Katherine Schmerr.
It is known that Margaret did attend school in Cincinnati, Ohio between 1880-1890. She and her husband August Feldhaus did live in Wilksbear Penn., but retired and died in Chicago Illinois. August died in 1954 in Lyons Illinois as did
Margaret in 1961. August and Margaret are the parents of my grandmother, Ethel Margaret Mary Feldhaus Puls, who was born on April 3, 1908 in Cincinnati, Ohio. My grandmother Ethel was married to Henry Julius James Puls, from Lyons Illinois. Ethel died in a suburb of Cincinnati, Ohio called Loveland on April 5, 1990. Any info would be great!

Felger - Velker

I am looking for information on my grandfathers family.
His name was Anthony Emmett Velker and was born in 1903 in Odessa Russia.
His father was Nicholas Felger born 1879 (son of Adam and Christina, also from Odessa) and his mother was Phillipina Marback born 1884. He also had a brother Adam who was born around 1905.
It is thought that they immigrated to the United States about 1905 and came in through Ellis Island where their name was changed to Velker.
I have as yet found no record of their crossing and would appreciate any help offered.
Thanks
Amy Humphreys
Reply to Amy Ryan, wondering if we are related. I'm sure we are. I grew up in Ft. Wayne and my grandmother was Rosa
Felger-Welklin. She comes from the Jacob Heinrich Felger
line, and Mary Louella Felger-Kurtz came from the Christopher Friedrich Felger line. Jacob and Christopher were brothers, sons of Johann Frederick Felger and Katharina Barbara Luipold. Jacob Heinrich Felger was my gg grandfather. Christopher Friedrich Felger was Mary Louella Felger-Kurtz's grandfather. As a boy, I often went out to Arcola to visit my great uncle, Fred Felger.
