Hi all,
My name is Joy Powell. I am trying to find my great great grandmother's family. Her name is Francis Allie Felkel born in
May 1855 in Florida, her father is from South Carolina, we think his name was Frances Allen Felkel born about 1828 and died about 1855 in Florida. We don't know anything about the mother. We do know that ally stayed with a family named Barco in the 1860 census for Leon, Fl. She married my great great grandfather (Gilchrist)in 1870. She married again in 1890. I know that she claimed my grandfathers civil war pension in 1921 and that she died in 1930/32. She is buried in Mt Pisgah Cem. near her infant twins. Any help in connecting her to the right father and mother would be great.

Sorry, I guess I did not make it too clear. He is not one of the men that died. He bailed out of the plane. He was one of the six that lived. I just wanted to know what happen to them all. I have all the newspaper accounts but nothing much is said about the survivors. I also have the official military report that just gives names.

Thanks for your response. The person I had in mind might have served in WWII, but did not die in a plane crash. Maybe if you go to a library near you and look at microfilm of the newspaper of your grandmother's hometown you can find the article. It will probably tell you where he was from. Sorry I could not help.

Sorry, I do not know where he was from. He was listed as a Right Waist Gunner on a crew for a B-29 going from Kansas to Texas in 1947. I am researching the flight because it crashed on my grandmother's farm in Texas on 20 Jan. 1947. Two crewmen where killed in this crash. I am in contact with the family of one of the men killed. I would like to locate all crew members families.

I wish I knew more about them.

I realize your post is over 6 years old. Just got on internet.
Ann Vermella Felkel was born on Feb. 5, 1874.
She was baptized on April 18, 1874.
She died on March 25, 1935.
She married James Peter Heape on January 20, 1895
He was born November 28, 1869
He died January 5, 1928
Her father was Joseph Kennerly Felkel, born May 28, 1837, died April 6, 1916.
Her mother was Mary Ann Whisenhunt, born August 6, 1840, died November 6, 1932.
All buried at St. Matthews Lutheran Church Cemetery near St. Matthews, S. C.
His father was T. H. Heape
His mother was Murviah Buyck
I only have two children for T. H. Heape and Murviah Buyck (there are probably more):
William Buyck Heape, born No. 2, 1895, died Dec. 17, 1973
Joseph Heape (no dates) married Catherine Stoudenmire.
Really hope you got your information earlier.

Thank you for your reply. Your mother Dorothy's sister was Hattie Felkel Reynolds (1900-1989). Hattie's son Frank Albert Reynolds, Jr married my wife's sister Phyllis Buroker Reynolds. You and Phyllis are first cousins. Phyllis is 87 years young, lives in Florida with family and is very interested in genealogy and finding more of her family.

My mother was Dorothy Marie Felkel from Sapulpa ok. She married Karlis Knight. My mother and father both died when they were 52 .mother died in 1968 and dad died 1962. My father was from Elloree, SC. I have been told about Elizabeth and 2 sons Henry and Josef coming over with her from Germany. Have you heard any more about where in Germany they came and why was she traveling with 2 sons? I thank you for information you have.

Wondering if anyone has information on the following family, being of my wife's line.

Joseph M. Felkel, b. abt 1874 and immigrated from Prussia in 1891. Listed in Cleveland, OH in 1900 C. with wife Malanca(sp?) (age 20) and dau. Wilhemina (age 1). He was a shoemaker.

Joseph listed in 1920 in Sapulpa, OK with family as follows
Malanca Wife 41
Wilhemina 20 b. OH
Hattie E 19 b. OH
Herbert K 13 b. OH
Dorothy M 5 b. OK

Hattie's full name was Hetwig Estelle Felkel (no wonder she went by Hattie!) She married Frank Albert Reynolds and they lived in Parsons, KS. They had two sons: Frank Allen and James. Her second husband was a William Cline. She died in 1989.

Only other information I have is that Herbert K Felkel died in 2002 in Tulsa OK.

I realize some have attempted to determine where the Felkels (Volkle, Folkle..?) originated and I would appreciate any further findings regarding that.

my father came originally from Nieder-Hillersdorf (Sudetenland, currently Czech Republic), his name was Alfred Felkel (1931-1982). He and his family fled to Bavaria after WW II. I am trying to find out more about my family - is anyone of you able to provide me with related information (e.g. in regards of Franz Felkel (born ca. 1900, died ca. 1935)?

Hey,

my Grandfather, Alois Felkel (1911 - 2007), was born in a small village, Friedeberg (Czech.). He and his wife, Anna Felke, moved to Neufahrn by Freising, a small town between Munich und Freising, Bavaria.

But I knew a lot of Felkels in Austria, too. I tink, the Felkels are domiciled in the north-east part of the Czech Republic, which was known as "Sudetenland" oder "Tschisch-Schlesien". This could be the reason for the Felkels, wo are living in Austria or the South of Germany

ich gehe einfach mal davon aus , dass Sie deutsch sprechen wenn Sie in Elsterwerda wohnen. Ich war völlig überrascht, dass es meinen Namen, inkl. Vornamen noch einmal gibt. Clarence F. Felkel, was the first child born on March 23, 1895 to George Crawford and Rosa Alice (Kissinger) Felkel.He was born in Hillsboro, Montgomery County, Illinois. He married Anna Cecilia Stank on Nov. 8, 1915 - Children - Dorothy Rose, Verna Victoria, Majorie Ruth, George Francis, Carol Ann & Mariln Faith.

I have some information regarding Clarence Fredrick Felkel. Paul Felkel from Medford, Oregon provided a family history to my husband's family in 1980.

ONE OF THESE YEARS WILL HAVE TO MAKE ONE OF THOSE OGS OCTOBERFESTS, BEEN MEANING TO GO BUT HAVEN'T MADE ONE IN TEN YEARS YET.
ON THE PHONE LIST OF FELKELS IN THE COUNTRY, THEY SHOW SIX OF THEM LIVING IN FLORIDA, ONE BEING IN TALLAHASSEE. DON'T KNOW IF THESE ARE PART OF THE FELKELS WHO DESCEND FROM THE ONES WHO CAME TO LEON CO. IN THE EARLY 1800'S OR ARE FELKELS WHO MOVED HERE IN THE LAST GENERATION OR TWO. Robert,I appreciate your interest in my question and I hope I make myself more clearthis time. All I know about Anna Vermelle Heape is that she was a daughter to Joseph K. Felkel and a Mary Ann? I think the K. for Joseph is Kennerly.They were born in S.C. and are buried here in SC.Anna married James Peter Heape. They are my great-grandparents. I don't have any other info on Anna's Family and if anyone knows anything about them I would surely appreciate it.

Carrie, you have posted your message on this particular message board, which is the message board for people looking for information about people who were specifically from what is today the state of Baden-Wuerttemberg in southwestern Germany. But in your query, you fail to mention what Anna Vermelle Felkel's connection was to this part of Germany. I don't think anyone here on this board will be able to help you until you explain just what the connection was.
