I am really at a total loss when it comes to my Feller ancestors. My great grandfather was LOUIS (LEWIS) HOLDEN FELLER and was born in 1861 in Batavia, Genesee County New York. He died in 1914 in Leadville Colorado. Records show he had a sister MARY A FELLER or ALICE ADELE FELLER who married a Eugene Teats in Colorado as well. My problem is I have been unable to identify, for certain, who his mother and father were. My best guess – and that really is all it is at this point is that his mother was HELEN HOLDEN FELLER and his father may have been F. A. FELLER. I believe his mother died when he was very young – which points to Helen. It is possible that his father remarried and moved to Michigan near Lansing as there is evidence of an F. A. Feller married to a ROSE FELLER in 1880 in Michigan. The family lore indicates that the family came from the Alsace Lorraine area, which would have been France at the time he would have emigrated. However, census information indicates that Louis’ (Lewis) father was German. There appear to be quite a few other Feller families in the Palmyra New York area about 60 miles east of Batavia, but I have not been able to make any connection. I am in the process of trying to obtain birth and death records for several of the above. I would welcome any hint of connections. I know that there has been talk of connection to Bob Feller (baseball player) but I seriously doubt that we have any connection. It would be interesting to have my brother or son get the DNA test, but I am not sure if they are too far removed for it to be useful at this point.
