Surnames: FELLNER - KARABA - PADEN - GILMORE - (WAGNER?)
In a letter from Emily [Ormshaw?] to Pauline FELLNER Paden, Emily states that her grandmother was a sister of Pauline's father, Andreas "Andrew" FELLNER, son of John and Teres FELLNER.
Emily's letter to my great-aunt Pauline is handwritten, scanned and posted here in 3 separate attachments, as I was unable to scan all together.
I have read and re-read this letter, and studied Emily's handwriting, but find I still can't make her writing out in a few instances, so noted, ________ [?].
If anyone here is related or knows anything of Emily [Ormshaw?] or the family she mentions and identifies in this letter... PLEASE CORRECT AND HELP ME IF YOU CAN!!!
THE LETTER READS AS FOLLOWS:
Thurs.
Dear Pauline and Glynn,
So good to hear from you. I would have answered sooner, but my daughter was here for two weeks. We enjoyed having them so much. Then we got company from Mich. So we've been busy.
Pauline, all I can remember about what my grandmother
________ [Hladni?] told me was, she was a FELLNER and your father's sister. It was their mother's family that had money and lived in a castle. I think it was in Czechoslovakia. It was her that was related to Richard Wagner and at one time they lived in Leipzig, Germany.
Some place down the line we had a Lutheran minister in the family, because when my grandmother married my grandfather ________ [Hladni?] who was Catholic, they disowned her. They never saw my mother or Aunt ________
[Albina?].
Hope I've helped a little with the family tree. Wish I knew more. Still don't know how Mary O'Bradovich is related to us.
My sister Wilma's daughter, who is 38 years old just had her first baby, a little girl. We are so happy for her.
Pauline, my grandmother was a big beautiful woman with big pretty eyes and complexion. Your daughter sure reminded
me of her.
We both just got over the flu, which is going around. Art keeps busy with his hobby and I'm working on a new
________ [clock?].
Weather still not too good for this time of the year. We're sort of planning to fly to Mich. in July, also had some very good friend who want us to go to Spain with them next year so we're kind of playing with that scene. Would love to go, but Art is not one to travel.
Take care, give your family our love. Write again.
Much Love,
Emily ________ [Ormshaw?]
(Happy Mother's Day)

HISTORY:
My great-grandfather, Andreas "Andrew" FELLNER was born in Czechoslovakia (maybe Tatabanya, Hungary) in 1864. He was a son of John and Teres FELLNER. Andreas and his wife, Susannah, had resided in Kochherde [sic], Hungary prior to their immigration to the US. They boarded the ship, Kroonland, in Antwerp, Belgium and in coming to the US, they arrived in the port of NY on Nov. 17, 1903. At some point in time they settled in Greene County, Pa. Susannah died July 28, 1909.
Andrew was married a second time to Pauline KARABA on April 25, 1910 in Brownsville, Fayette County, Pa. They settled in Rice's landing and Pauline had six children all born in Rice's Landing:
Andrew was a coal miner in southwest Pa. Injured or ill from work in the mines, he was forced to retire and moved with his family to the small village of Torpedo in Warren County, Pa. in 1926. He died there on Feb. 6, 1928. He is buried in Sutton Hill Cemetery in Warren County, PA.
John L. Fellner, born March 05, 1911, died March 17, 1964 in Franklin, Venango County, PA.
Charles Ladislav FELLNER, born July 15, 1912, died April 09, 1981 in Oil City, Venango County, PA.
Andy FELLNER, born May 22, 1914... died 10 days later
Pauline FELLNER Paden, born May 22, 1915, died June 4, 2000 in Franklin, Venango County, PA.
Mildred FELLNER GILMORE, born March 22, 1917, date and place of death unknown, maybe OH.
Andrew George FELLNER, born November 18, 1919, died April 10, 1967 in Franklin, Venango County, PA.
