Martha Fellows Oliver, d/o James and Parthena Fellows

I am looking for any info on Martha Fellows, d/o James and Parthena Fellows. She married Nathaniel G. Oliver in Stokes County NC in Jan. 1873. Their children were William (aka Bunk), Joseph, and Sallie. They were all born in North Carolina. The family moved to Virginia around 1892. I have other last names for Martha, but since the marriage license I found gives her name as Fellows, its the one I am concentrating on although some family members are sure it is Hensley. Does anyone know for sure?

This fellows family in relation to Ephraim Fellows?

Hi,
I am wondering this is the fellows line that is related to Ephraim fellows. I am a (bloodline) great great grandchild of him. My grandfather is Robert Bowen and his mom was married to Ephraims son (cant remember the name-think it was Abeil). Anyways the family broke off due to his wife leaving him with her 2 children a daughter and a son-my grandfather. I was just hoping to connect to those in the fellows line, I guess.

FRESNO COUNTY CAN FIND NO RECORD OF HIS DEATH, SO WE BELIEVE HE WAS BROUGHT IN FROM ANOTHER JURISDICTION. THIS PERSON IS NOT THE SON OF HENRY AND MELISSA LAMBSON FELLOWS. THEIR SON, ORIMAL, ON HIS DEATH CERTIFICATE, DIED IN 1930 AND IS BURIED IN HOLY CROSS CEMETERY, FRESNO.
WOULD ALSO LIKE INFORMATION ON ALLEN FELLOWS, B. 6-29-1866 IN MICHIGAN, TO HENRY & MELISSA. I CAN FIND NO RECORD OF HIM AFTER THE 1880 CENSUS.
WOULD BE HAPPY TO SHARE ANYTHING I HAVE WITH ANYONE.

Earl also had a sister by the name of Fannie Fellows Ryan who lived in Oxford. In a personal letter from James R. Glacking dated August 1978, Earl was about 75 and his sister Fannie was nearing 80. They settled in Muscatine County, IL by 1850 and Mary Ann apparently died there between 1870 and 1880, at which time George is listed with a different wife. A Joseph FELLOWS appears in the 1840 census of Hancock County, IL - who was he? He is the only candidate I have found as a possible parent to Mary Ann.

Thanks!

Hi. I THOUGHT my G+grandfather married Eliz. Brooks but then I found the message below. I'm hoping someone can
confirm or deny that information. I've had no luck trying to locate either Eliz. Brooks or Elisabeth Brocket in Kingston.
Thanks for any help you can send my way!!

Ebenezer FELLOWS Birth: 10 NOV 1692 in Salisbury, Essex County, MA
Death: 5 Feb 1741/42 in Kingston, Rockingham County, New Hampshire

Note: Many trees show wife as Elizabeth BROOKS, but this is apparently in error.

Kingston Vital Records: "Ebinr Fellowes and Elisabeth BROCKET were Joned in marrege november ye 12 1718” in Kingston, Rockingham County, New Hampshire
Ebenezer Fellows is listed among families in Kingston in 1725 when the First Church was organized.

I have been researching men who worked for Vickers Steelworks in Sheffield England and fell in the Great War 1914-18. The result of this research and military details about William Fellows can be found on http://www.stannington.webitsmart.co.uk/

I know very little about William other than his military details. Can anybody tell me more? He was a member of the West Yorkshire Regiment (Prince of Wales's Own). I'd like to know more about his family. Even if somebody could tell me his fathers name, this might help.

I look forward to hearing from you

Regards

Robert.

Anna E. Beeman Fellows?

Hi everybody. I have been searching trying to find out who the parents of my gg grandmother were. My grandfather had given me a sheet and his has that it should be a John Elmore and Anna E. Beeman Fellows. I know they had at least two kids my gg grandmother Anna Eliza and Frank. Anna was born 9-4-1875 and died 6-12-1909 and married Thomas Wesley Carey 12-18-1891. All I know about Frank is that he married Bessie Carey born 2-25-1873 and died 10-27-1958. Bessie is Thomas Wesley's sister. The sheet my grandfather gave me indicates in one case that maybe John Elmore and Anna E. Beeman Fellows was a second marriage for one or both of them. If anybody has any info that might help me figure it out I would sure appreciate some help. I have tried everything I can think of.

I am looking for info on Phebe and/or Rhoda Fellows. Phebe was born about 1797, Fellows is probably her married name. Rhoda was born about 1826 and I assume is Phebe's daughter. They resided in Dryden, LaPeer County Mi in 1850. I would appreciate any information, have hit a brick wall and am hoping these 2 will open a door.

Thanks,
Barbara

dennis fellows, maud fellows,

I am trying to trace my Mothers Grandmother, Aunt or relatives. She was born Maud Fellows,( her Mother was either Margaret or Jenna Fellows, her Father is unknown ) probably in the 1880s ? and lived in Dudley, Worcestershire, now known as West Midlands. She had a son Dennis Fellows born in 1916 and a Daughter whose name I do not know. When my Grandfather was young his Mother Maud left England with her daughter and a man whose name we do not know. She left my Grandfather with a relative. I have been told that they were planning to go to Chigaco in America.
Maybe there is someone out there who may have been told by a relative that she had a brother called Dennis in Dudley, West Midlands.

From the “History of Walworth County, Wiscosnsin-1882” there is a biographic sketch under the ‘Town of Lyons’ for Joel B. Smith, farmer, Sec 5; P.O. Lyons; son of Chester Smith, who was born in Bennington Co., VT, May 14, 1795, who is still living, and is residing with his son at the homestead, at the advanced age of 87 years. His father, Oliver Smith, the grandfather of Joel B. Smith, was soldier of the Revolutionary War; he marched with Gen. Benedict Arnold across the wilderness to Quebec, and participated in the disastrous attack of Gen. Montgomery upon that stronghold. Chester Smith emigrated from the State of New York to the then Territory of Michigan, in the fall of 1834. He came to Walworth Co in April, 1846, and settled on the farm which he purchased of John Smith. His wife was Abigail R. Bostwick. They have four children, two of whom died in Michigan, and a daughter, Martha E., wife of Henry Banker, died in 1866. Joel B. Smith was born in Clarendon, Orleans Co, NY, in 1834; he married Mary E. Fellows, a daughter of Amos Fellows. They have three children – Lura A., Halbert E. and Anna L. The homestead farm contains 143 acres of land.

Death of John Fellows, Sampson Co, N.C.

I'm a Descendent of Green Wood. He died young in 1822 leaving his wife with 7 children. I've yet to find out how he died but today I found a clue. I believe John Fellows was with him. I found a Sampson Co., N.C. court document for a hearing following the death of Green Wood dated July 12, 1822. "To the Sheriff of Sampson County. Greetings. You are hereby commanded to take the BODIES of John Fellows and Green Wood to the........" There is no mention of how they died. I'm hoping someone in the Fellows Family knows the answer to this mystery. It may have been a John Fellows who was married to Sarah Blackmon in Sampson Co. The Wood Family Farm is next door to the Blackman Family so I feel the Fellows Family all knew each other. Thank You-Phil Wood

Adin Fellows/Viola Pettit

Recently found in 1855 Census, Orleans Co, NY, town of Yates. Fellows, William L.age 39 w/wife, Polly, age 37 & children: George, 16; Lewis, 13; Albert, 11; Adin, 4; all of NY and grandparents: William, 64; Lydia, 62. Also in 1865 Census, Orleans Co, NY, town of Carlton: Pettit, Stephen A., 39; w/wife Adeline S. (Howell), 39; ch: Eugene, 16; Franklin, 13; William, 11; Viola, 9; Edith 1. This is the first time I've come across Viola and not sure if she is my gr-grandmother as her death record lists her parents as: John Fellows and Adelia. Adeline comes close to Adelia so hoping that the death record I found in Pt. Huron, MI might be in error as I have searched long and hard for Viola A. Pettit who married Adin Fellows. They were both born in NY but I have not been able to find a marriage record, guessing they married in NY about 1871. If anyone can help me out I would appreciate it very much. Thanks. Eveis@prodigy.net

I do know that he came from a large family, possibly 13 children.
They resided in Conneaut, Ohio when he was little.
If anyone knows of this family, please contact me at my email. heyyoushari@comcast.net

Fellows Family

I am the Granddaughter of Russell M. Fellows. I have been able to trace our family back to Robert Fellowe. His son was William, his son was Noble, his son William, his son was Ephraim at that point there are three generations of Ephraim's, than Charles, than Edwin Russell than my Grandfather Russell Miller. I am still searching for any other information. I have a picture of Russell P. Fellows whom served in the Civil War and died in a Prison Camp in Florence S.C. on Nov. 20, 1864. He was a Uncle of my Great Grandfather. If anyone has any more information or would like any of the information I would be glad to email it.

I apologize for this very racist old newspaper article, but it's also a very interesting piece of family history.

FOOLISH CORA FELLOWS

Pierre (Dakota), April 1, 1888- The marriage last Saturday of miss Cora Fellows, late of Washington, to Chaska, alias Campbell, a Sante Indian, at Swift Bird's Camp on the Missouri River, sixty miles above this city, was an event in Sioux history never to be forgotten. Just as the sun passed the meridan the words were pronounced by Rev, Hanford St Ohelans, a missionary, that united the fair white girl to a loarthsome Sioux Indian of the lowest type.
The bride is of average height of slight stature and fair to look upon, being a bright happy brunnette, and dressed in a neat fitting suit of dark stuff with a bunch ow white wild floweres fastened at her throat, she formed a picturesque figure, and caused many guests to shed silent tears as they contemplated her dark and gloomy future.
Chaska, is ignorant and untirely uneducated, not being able to speak even a word of English, and is regared as one of the most unprincipaled Indians of the Sioux nation, and looked repulsive as the words uniting the couple were spoken in English by the clergyman and interpreted into Sioux.
The American part of the ceremony concluded with a game, to which 50 whites had been invited. An interesting part of the procedings was the Indian part of the ceremony after the conclusion of that performed by the Rev. Mr. Hanford.

Sacramento Bee 4/2/1888
