There is a grave marker in Payne Cemetery with the following inscription:

AUGUST G. FELLWOCK
Dec. 2, 1814 - Nov. 15, 1899
WILHELMINE, His Wife
Sep. 29, 1818 - Mar. 7, 1875

The marker can be seen in findagrave.com. The memorial number is 39674287.

Augusta was their oldest child. According to a record in familysearch.org she married Herman Lommatzsch about 1859. The same record lists their children’s surname as Lommatsch (without the “z”).
Vaude Fellwock has a Brother Merrvil Forest Wendelborn. Vaude was adopted by his Aunt Fellwock, hence the name change. This was done in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was about 5 or six at the time. His adopted mother's husband died and she married a Quass. His adopted mother's name was Adella and she is buried in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Vaude Fellwock married Josephine Sturm and had a daughter and then they divorced. Vaude then married Bernice Fellwock, nee Smith. Only the daughter is living. sallyg35@iowatelecom.net

Hello,

I think we were in touch about 9 months ago. I'm still interested in helping you find your roots in Germany.

Those people you found on the same page of the shipping list, are definitely my relatives, although the names are written a bit differently. I'm in close contact with Gustav Riecke's grandson. (Gustav was my grandmother's cousin.)

Meanwhile getting so much assistance from ancestry members, I have found lots of US relatives whose roots were in Hohendodeleben near Magdeburg, Germany.

Once again: please feel free to contact me again for the research of your Sasse ancestors in Germany.
Please e-mail me at byriga@aol.com.

Kind regards

Gaby
Visa issued Leipzig.

His father is named Stephen Reincke and the address listed was:

Madeburg
Schoeningerstr. 4/5

The destination is Brooklyn New York.
Hi Christian,
I've worked many years on the FELLWOCK family, which married into my lines several times. It seems that almost all FELLWOCK families came from the area of Nahausen, just north of Koenigsberg, Brandenburg, now Chojna, Poland, about 50 miles north east of Berlin.

Do you know where your grandmother lived?

Hi,
I have data on a lot of Fellowocks in Indiana and Illinois, but I'm not sure we have the same ones. I do have an August Fellwock, b 1840 in Germany, came to the US with his parents in 1844. No further info on him.

Check your dates on Wilhelmine -- you have her b. 1918 and d 1875. Are those just reversed, or is one of them off by a century?

Many of my Fellwock's were in Evansville, Indiana, and around Vandalia, Illinois. Much of my data is posted on my website at
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~monajo/nah/

I have some old letters from Vaude Fellwock written to his wife from 1938 - 1945 and old photos. I think he was a police officer with the Cedar Rapids Police Dept. My cousin bought these from a garage sale in Iowa years ago as they said there were no living relatives.
I reside in Sydney, Australia.
I read the obituaries and found out Vaude died in 1986. I think it is the same person.

I am related to a Wilhelmina Fellwock who was born sometime around 1815-1817. She married Carl Schoenike in 1847 in Dodge,Wisconsin. I belive that both came from Brandenburg, Preussen in Germany.

Fellwock surname

I just read your message. I am a Fellwock. I am just beginning my genealogical search, so I don't have information for you, but I was so thrilled to see your message. I have just discovered a family chart, which goes back to just the info that you have, altho you have dates I don't have. I have Friedrich b.1757-1841, married to Maria Warnei, son of Martin (no dates) and married to Flo. Rohrbeck. That is where my chart stops. It was prepared by a cousin of my dad
in the early 70's. A family history gives the location in Germany as Nehausen, near Koenigsbert, in the Newmark Kingdom of Prussia, Germany. "My parents were German Wendenese." This is written by John Frederick Fellwock, 1831-1917, my great grandfather. It looks like her is a brother to Louise, who I have as marrying a Jagow, your ancestor. Do you have this document? I would be happy to send you a copy. I live in Mission Viejo, California.
FELLWOCK - VILLWOCK ?

Is there a connection between FELLWOCK and VILLWOCK?

I have recently come into possession of a 'Trauschein' regarding Christian VILLWOCK of Gewiesen, Kreis Rummelsburg, Pommern, and Wilhelmine HASS of Karolinenthal, Kreis Schlochau, Westpreussen. This marriage took place on September 18, 1891, in Meriden, Connecticut. USA. It was witnessed by Johann BESS, and Bertha HASS.

I believe that the area which Christian and Wilhelmine came from is the same from which the FELLWOCKs originated.

From other sources Christian (middle name possibly Frederick) was born c 1864, possibly November 27. Christian had a brother Gottlieb, born c 1861. Wilhelmine was born approximately 1863. Wilhelmine had sisters Bertha and Augusta, and a brother William, and two other siblings.

Do these name appear in your records? What can you tell me about them?

I would be greatly appreciative of any help you can provide.

Thank you,

WCBuie
Fellwock in Indiana and Illinois

I am searching for Fellwock's who settled in Ripley Co., Indiana. Augusta Fellwock, born 8/11/1840, came over with her family. She married Herman Lommatsch there and they moved to Livingston Co., Illinois. There are grave markers in Illinois with the names August G. Fellwock, born 12/02/1841, and Wilhelimine Fellwock, born 9/29/1918 and death 3/7/1875. These are found in Paine's Cemetery NE of Chenoa, Illinois. Does anyone have any information?

I read your e-mail. I notest that a Fellwocks was married to a Carl Schoenike. My great-grandfather was Fred Schoenike and he was born in Dodge Co. April 1, 1854. He married Augusta Voight in 1876 and moved to Larabee, Wis. In 1908 he and his family settled on a farm in the Town of Belle Plaine, Wis.He was 84 when he died, but I do not have the date. The obit. doesnot list his parents name. He had a grandson also named Carl. Your Carl might be his father.Darlene

I am just trying to find out if I am right that they are brother and sister. I know Albert died around 1927 and Lora died before 1934. I am also trying to find out for sure if Michael and Henryetta are their parents because on some letter or picture, I found their names.

Judy:
You made the connection, I have a lot of information and continue to gather more. I am particularly interested in a Fellwock memoirs that details the family leaving Nahausen and their arrival in WI near Mayville. This immigration was made by Fellwocks, Oertwigs, Sasse, Jagow, and Stein families, these families starting the River Church near Mayville, Wisconsin. Please contact me at LeeJ929700@aol.com, what genealogy program are you using??
Talk to you soon,
Lee
