Roger, I think I can help you. You asked about Aaron Felt, born in Casco Bay, who married Mary Hyatt in Massachusetts...
Casco Bay is in Massachusetts, not Maine, so you've probably been in the wrong stack at the library.
Best thing for you to do is find a copy of "The Felt Genealogy, A Record of the Descendants of George Felt of Casco Bay, Compiled by John E. Morris, Hartford, Conn. 1893. It's almost 600 pages long, but it traces all the branches of his tree down to that date.
In a nutshell, George Felt came landed at Salem, Mass. in 1628 with the John Endicott party. He imigrated from Wales. He acquired 2,000 acres, was run off by Indian wars several times, then was cheated out of all of it and died peniless, a ward of the town of Malden.
Aaron Felt was the son of Moses Felt, the sixth child of George Felt. Moses b. 1651 in Casco Bay, was a landed proprietor in North Yarmouth, Mass. He was continually driven from home by Indians. The Naragansett War forced himoff his land once. Then he deserted it again during King Williams War. He died after October 1734 in Rumney Marsh (Boston).
There's a ton of information about the family in that book.
If you can't find the book in the library, email me and I can help fill in some gaps for you.
Also, you should try to find "Register of the Ancestors of Dorr Eugene Felt and Agnes Felt, by Alfred Holman, Chicago, 1921. It's a different branch but has most of the same information on the family back to George Felt.
Here's what I have on Aaron Felt: Aaron Felt, born probably at Casco Bay, and removed to Rumney Marsh with his father. He subsequently became a resident of Lynn (Mass.) and purchased of his brother Joshua a lot of nine acres in the "Six hundred Acre Division," which is described as being "in Lynn and Boston" for 160 (pounds I think), April 12, 1737.
Aaron Felt was a husbandman and cooper. He married Dec. 25, 1739, Mary Wyatt of Lynn. She died after 1760, and he married (2d) Jan. 22, 1765, Hannah Atwell.
Shortly after this time he removed to Andover, Mass., but in 1769 was back again in Lynn, and March 20 of that year bought land there "running 40 Rod by Chelsey Line."
Administration on his estate was granted by son Aaron, Sept. 5, 1769.
Nov. 25, 1771, his administrator was empowered by the "Great and General Court" to "make Sail of all the Rail Estate of his Hon father, Aaron Felt, Late of Lynn."
(Source for all this info is listed as Essex Deeds and Probate.)
His children were: Mary b. Oct. 20, 1740; Aaron b. Sept. 1, 1742; Peter, b. Nov. 3, 1745; Joshua, b. June 21, 1751; Jonathan, b. April 8, 1753; Samuel, b. March 17, 1755; Joseph, b. Jan. 12, 1757; Sarah, b. Jan. 22, 1760, m. John Breed.
FYI: All six of his sons fought in the Revolution... Samuel answered the Lexington alarm; Joshua was wounded at Concord Bridge; Peter and Jonathan fought at Saratoga; Joseph was captured at Fort Washington.
It's hard to type in this little window, so I hope I haven't mixed anything up. I'll email you this same info. Hope it helps.
