Hello Mrs. Pollard,
In my first message I made a mistake in writing. Johann Joseph Feltes was born in 30. Apr. 1862 not 1869!
Theodor Feltes and his wife Margaretha Braun had 8 children. Here the birthdates:
1. Nikolaus * 18. Sept. 1841
2. Katharina I. * 6. May 1846, she was married with Johann Kraus
3. Wilhelm * 23. March 1848
4. Anna Maria * 6. Dec. 1849, she was married with Jacob Nussbaum (not clear whether they emigrated)
5. Katharina II. * 8. Nov. 1851(not clear whether she emigrated)
6. Barbara * 7. Oct. 1953, she was married with Matthias Thiel from Welschbillig (southly of Idenheim). Both emigrated also, I think like Barbara`s mother, Helena and Johann Joseph in 3. Jul. 1880.
7. Helena * 24. Jun. 1858
8. Johann Joseph * 30. Apr. 1862
Of course it must be said in my first message "... were sought by prussian governement..." I forgot that "forget" is irregular.
Yesterday told me a friend, Wolfgang Ewen, that members of the Feltes family had visited Idenheim some years ago. He believed they were coming fom Trenton, NJ. Perhaps you know something about that?
Thats for today
Heinz.
