Jerry,

"The other Silas is the original Silas' son"? Is there a known Silas earlier than mine?(1860)

Your line and mine might connect via Thomas & William Malone's father, a Benjamin if memory serves. Do you know Benjamin's parents/grand parents?

Somewhere about the 1830-1840 period there was a large movement of intermarried families westward, with Meriwether being one of the stopping points in this movement. This time period I can not find any reliable verifiable proof of location or relationship of Frances (Miller?) Feltman to another Feltman.

I am interested in the details you have about your Feltman
line and particular prior to 1840.

Thanks,

Carey
One of the Silas Feltmans is the son of William Malone Feltman who was the brother to my ggrandfather, Thomas C. Feltman. The other Silas is the original Silas' son. If you are interested I have a whole line from William Malone.
Jerry

Hello Jerry,

I believe we have had some contact several years ago, and have followed your tree information on Ancestry and find it very thorough and helpful. There is no doubt that we have some distant cousin relationship.

My Line goes through a George McDuffie Feltman born in Miss 1837-38, picking up in Meriwether County in 1850. The trail backward stops there as the father of George is unknown, and the mother is unknown as well, at least for George. There were three other younger Feltman boys that may all be brothers to each other and or George, though there is no definitive proof of what relationship they share.

My family tree runs heavily through Meriwether via Feltman,
Butler, Malone and either Miller or Fuller and others.

I have collected a lot of information on Meriwether county, marriage info, court records, etc. These I captured digitally on flash drives and use as reference when I get a brain storm.

There is a cousin living in South Carolina now, named David
that is in the same line as mine. I think that he would be George Feltman's GGGrandson. Our lines diverge at George's grand children line. Oh, David has some pictures of George's two children, if you are interested. They are Silas Feltman and Georgia Feltman Williams

I guess what I'm looking for is some sources that I haven't discovered yet:-)

Thanks for any feed back and if Meriwether fits into your search strategy, I have many general source records pertinent to the county from around 1830-70 or so.

Carey

I am looking for info on my gr gr grandparents George Henry Feltman, Sr. and Katharine Kleeman. George was born 1847 in Ostfriesland, Germany and Katharine was born 1849 in Suurhusan, Germany. Katharine came to America in 1865 with her parents and 2 brothers. I think I may have located another sister through census records that was born here in the states. I have yet to find when George came to America. They were married in USA and settled in Ogle County, IL. They had 11 kids; Annie, Jacob, William, Albert, George Jr, Hattie, John G, Katie, Fred, Edith, Freda. My line George Henry Feltman, Jr. moved on to MN. Any info please contact me at krousu@yahoo.com. Thanks abundle.

James B Feltman Fayette, AL 1840 family question

Does anyone know the relations or info of James B Feltman who was in Fayette Alabama in 1840? It says he was born c. 1770, wife the same, living with a male and female (son or daughter) and their 2 young boys. Jacob Feltman was in Fayette, too, allready, so my hope is that this James had another son, and that one of those 2 young boys is my George :)

hi I think we have a connection here. Jerome Harry Feltman was my mother in laws father. They lived in Ohio and moved to Sheppard. We got an invitation this year to the feltman reunion on July 28th. We were unable to make it on short notice since we live in Va. Email me at Mamaha1@aol.com and let me know if this could be in your tree. Thanks Jackie

Update to my own post...I have found George McDuffie Feltman! b. 1839 in either MASS or MISS !!!! I found him in Meriwether GA with wife (as a PHILPMAN) , as well as 3 brothers living with the Argoves family in 1860, Jacob, William, and Edmond. In 1850, the 3 youngest ones are with mother FRANCIS Feltmon b. 1825 SC. Next door to Milton FULLER b. 1820 SC. George McD is living with Milton in 1850!!! All in Meriwether. Now to try to figure out if it is Miss or Mass, and who the father is!!

Hoping to find a link to the Mississippi Feltmans.

I have a george mcduffy Feltman b. c. 1840 or so..no record who died in the civil war in 1862 and cannot find ANYTHING about him except his marriage in Meriwether GA in 1859 to Louisa Pattilo and down from there. I have searched gA and SC, but those Newberry Feltmans dont match up with my definate date of Marriage...is there another Feltman line which was in the SE???? I still have no idea where the McDuffy came from either...

the George Feltman in my range from newberry (from what I can tell) was b. 1849, too late to be my line (mine had son silas in 1860).

Please let me know if anyone comes across another SE Feltman line or the names Lettice, Louisa, or George Mcduffys other child Georgia Feltman b. 1862.

Thanks!!!
