Caroline Katharina Velte and NYC

Is the Velte/Felty name one and the same? My 3rd Great Grandmother Caroline Katharina Velte was born 1/15/1835 in Oelbronn, Germany and immigrated to New York City in 1854, married in 1856. I think she came over with some relatives but they do not show in the census. Any of you trace your lines to NYC?
