Fensom/Fenson, looking for William Frank Fenssom adoption information, said he was adopted by Robert Jessie Fensom and Harriet Caroline Bocke. He is buried here in Kansas City , with his wife Emily Ann Sloan, and parents listed above. Any and all info is needed. William was my great grandfather, his son Robert Lee Fenson died when my dad was 2yrs old, not very much info.
Note: Robert Lee Fensom became "Fenson" when mistake in spelling on his marriage certificate.

William Henry Fensom in India 1861

We found some more information about this Fensom.

Amelia had two daughters with William Henry FENSOM (also written as William Henery [sic] Fensom and William Henry FENSAM). In a letter from a cousin was the following information:

"Marriage (Solemnised at Monghyr) 20 May 1861 ref N/1/99/543 William Henry FENSOM full age:bach.,Inspector on E Indian Railway: res, Kudgrah: father William, to Amelia Bridget KINGHAM. minor, spinster, res Jamalpore:father Thomas ; Registered at Baptist Mission House, under Act V of 1852; witnesses Thomas Kingham and George Barker. "

They had two daughters, though not until they had been married for ten years:

Lena Violet <Fensom> Christening 06 MAY 1878 India Office Ecclesiastical Returns-Bengal Presidency,,Misc, , , India

Mabel Ann <Fensom> christening 28 MAY 1871 India Office Ecclesiastical Returns-Bengal Presidency,,Misc, , , India (the brackets are around Fensom in the LDS entry)

I ran a search on the LDS records for Fensom in India, and for some reason Amelia, Lena, and Violet come up, but not William Henry. Those 3 were the only Fensoms listed for India.

We don't know what happened to William, but in Allahabad in 1880, the widow Amelia was wed to Henry Foster Josephs. Two months after the wedding, Ivy Alfreda Josephs was christened on
23 JUL 1880. Ivy Alfreda lived for only 18 months, and we don't know which man was her father, or what the circumstances were. Amelia had three more daughters with Henry, and her daughter Ivy May Foster Josephs is in our Duggan line.

She and Henry had 4 daughters:
Elsie Eileen (m. Catt), Ella Lilian (m. Ryles), Ivy Foster Joseph (m.
Thanks, Bob. We have found their son's ( Richard) certification of birth, listing Eliza's maiden name as Doughty. The marriage info is the right time, right place. Are you a Fensom descendent?

About a year ago, I found Eliza's maiden name was Doughty, not Eaves, from the birth registration of one of her children. Information handed down was she was called "Lizzie Eaves", so someone thought that was her maiden name. Previously I had tried to search for Eaves in the London area, but without any luck. Sorry.

Paul -- I just wanted to make sure you got my message yesterday. Let me know if you didn't. You can email me at zpz87@hotmail.com.

Lisa Ecker is now Mrs. Lisa Rogers. Her email # is lrogers@sk-arch.com (that's l that comes after j & k, not a one.)

I re-read your message of 6 Apr 2001. What is your source of information of Eliza's last name of Eaves? I may have given that to you a couple of years ago, but in the mean time I've found their son Richard's birth registration in England, with the name of his mother, Eliza Doughty. Some other info I have, has her name of Doughty also. Info handed down had the name Eaves.

Phyllis

Fensom family from Saskatchewan, Canada

I am trying to trace my living relatives in Canada. My grandfather was John Albert Fensom, born 4 July 1920 in Rosetown, Sask. I believe he was one of a number of siblings. He married my grandmother Joan King on 7 April 1945 in Redhill, Surrey, England but then they emigrated to Rosetown in 1946. My father John Allan Fensom was born in Saskatoon on 13 September 1947, but Joan brought him to England in 1950. He is an only child. He married my mother Mary James on 13 September 1969 in Redhill, Surrey, England and my brother and myself were both born in Redhill in the 1970's. I am now married, and my brother is engaged to be married.

I know my grandfather Bert remarried in Canada to Agnes in the 1970's. He died on 24 April 1999 at Victoria General Hospital, B.C.

I would love to hear from any members of the family who have an e-mail address. Mine is marie.hale@ntlworld.com for those who are interested.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Marie Hale (nee Fensom)

Hello Jill,

At the time you posted your message, I had very little knowledge of my Fensom ancestors in Canada and did not know of any members of my family called Kirk and Kathryn, but since then, I have met up with my great-uncle George and he has given me a lot more information. I now know that the Kirk Fensom in my family is the son of Calvin and Mabel, and that Calvin is the first cousin of my grandfather Bert. In fact, I have been in contact with Eleanore and Keith, who sent me information regarding the Fensom roots in Bedfordshire, England. Do you think we are talking about the same people? If we are, I would be very interested in exchanging information with you, as my family tree traces back to the early 1800s in England, but I still have gaps.

Do you have brothers called Tyler and Benjamin?

My dad was born in Saskatoon, but his English mother returned to England with him when he was only three years old, so our part of the family live in England.

I hope we are related. I would be more than willing to send you a copy of any information I have.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Marie Hale (nee Fensom)
Basingstoke, Hampshire, England

I'm looking for information on the family of Samuel Fensom and his wife, Lavina HANNA Fensom. They had 6 children and were suppose to have lived in Ogdensburg, New York. Probably between 1890 and 1948.
Does this family sound familiar to anyone?
Mary
