My grandfather's name was Clyde E. Fetrow. He was a son to George and Mary, and younger brother to your grandfather Emmett Roy. I have am interested in finding who George E. Fetrow (27 Jun 1877), our great grandfather's parents were. I only know that they were from York county Pennsylvania. My father George (son of Clyde) went to visit an uncle there when he was a small child. Can you help with any further Fetrow information?

My great grandfathers name was also George Fetrow. His wife's name was also Mary. My grandfathers name was Emmett Roy Fetrow, sr. He was George's son. My grandfathers brother was also named George. I believe younger George's wife's name was Esther.

I'm sorry to say that Mary Ellen Haight is not in my line of research. Neither is Whitham, Pattan. Ortery. I recommend the following resource for my line if you think there might be a connection:

Hi Tom,
Would like to know more about this line in hopes that it might be a connection in my Fetrow Line. I really don't have much; My 3rd Great Grandfather is John W. Fetrow born 1825/1826 in PA, he married Mary Ellen Haight on April 2, 1874 in Iowa, mine line goes as: their daughter Minnie May Fetrow married Charles A Whitham; their daughter Twila Elizabeth Whitham married Martin Leon Pattan, their daughter Eldeena A Pattan married Charles A Orterry (Ortery), which were my grandparents. This line stayed in Iowa/Illinois area.

Beings there is 3 generations of John Fetrows with your line, this is probably not my line. Your John Fetrow Jr could possible fit my John Fetrow, but unless my John was married before Mary Ellen Haight and had a son, probably not. A prior marriage is not out of the question as my John Fetrow was much older than Mary Ellen Haight.

John Fetrow Sr. b.Nov 1, 1782 d.June 6, 1860 married to Nancy Ann Yinger b. Feb 2, 1784 d.Sept 27, 1875.

John Fetrow Sr built a homestead in a section of Newberry Township, York County Pennsylvania which later became part of Fairview Township, York County, Pennsylvania. The homestead is also near the Fetrow Cemetery in Yocumtown, York County, Pennsylvania.

This homestead was passed down through generation to generation.

John Fetrow, III
William Grant Fetrow

Would anyone happen to know anything about this homestead or line of research? I would love to visit the original homestead if I could find its current location.

I have never been able to connect this family. However, the information I have is as follows:

Joseph Fetrow married Caroline Fetty
Their children were:

Alexander Fetrow who married Nancy Pottinger. They resided in Daleville, Indiana.

Elizabeth Fetrow who married Robert Corbet. They resided in Pennsylvania.

Mary Fetrow who married John Been. They resided in Pennsylvania.

John Fetrow who married Mary Marshall. They resided in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Joseph Fetrow who married Caroline Smith. They resided in Marion County, Indiana.

Catherine Fetrow died single.

William Fetrow who married Effie D. Newton in Marion County, Indiana. They had three children:
Raymond, who was born July 13, 1884.
Robert, who was born December 3, 1886.
Guntie, who was born October 19, 1889.

Maggie Fetrow who married Samuel Smith. They resided in Virginia.

Daniel Fetrow who married Clara Higgins. They resided in Juliette, Indiana.

Mahala Fetrow may have died in infancy.

I do not know which Joseph Fetrow is Alexander's father. I wonder if it is Joseph Fetrow, son of Michael B. Fetrow and Barbara ___________, who married Catherine Felty.

If anyone has more information or can help connect this family, I surely would appreciate it.

Abraham and Mary were related. Cousins is correct. Abraham was the son of Abram Fetrow (b. 1789) and Mary was the daughter of Andrew J. Fetrow and Deborah McMillion.

John Fetrow (b. 1806/07), son of Johannes Fetrow and Elizabeth Coble, married Catherine Collar. They had four children, Samuel, Fillmore, Mary, and William. I know of descendants of William, but not the other three.

75% of the Fetrow family seems to have originated in York County, Pennsylvania. There seem to be about 5 to 10% who randomly appear from Europe at later dates, and about 15% who remain a mystery, related by unconnected. What was it Butch said to Sundance, "Who are those guys?"

We are descends of Jerimiah Fetrow b 1798 PA m 19 June 1828 Coshocton OH to Jane Hayes d bef 1841 (Jane remarried a David Gatfield in 1841) They had several children.
Elizabeth Fetrow b 1829 d/o Jerimiah and Jane Hayes Fetrow m John (A)Eshelman 1847 Coshocton. They son Jerimiah Eshelman b 1855 m Mary Ann Fesler in Coshocton then moved to Indiana - Greene then Daviess and Martin Cos.
Let's share! I have info from Fetrow's book, but it does not want to recognize Jerimiah as son of Andrew Fetrow who was also in Coshocton 1820 and 1830.

Rex Fetrow was my grandfather..In answer to your query. My Mother's maiden name is Alderman and her first name is Margaret (Peggy). There are 3 children in my family me, Elizabeth (8-31-68) Kathryn (Bush 2-4-70) and David (3-26-74). As for my aunt Diane she had 3 children as well..

The LDS site has a marriage listed for Isaac Cline and Amanda Fetrow as March 31, 1870, York County, PA. Does anyone have more information on ancestry of these people, or more records from the marriage? According to my great-grandmother Minnie's death certificate, these are her parents. I can't find any definite information on them. Thanks for any help!

Which Frank are you? there are several in the Fetrow Chron. by Alan G. C T., in her responce mentions that you are listed.
I decend from Charles T. bro of Isaac, frederick, Harry E,CH{katie} Olphia, Anne, george FETROW
William 1844, bro to Sam1851 and Filmore1856
The real expert is Mark W. Johnson i think he has expanded Alen's work 10 fold.
Isaac's decendents are in Oregon while Chas.T's are here in Seattle and Washington.

Samuel Fetrow, b, 1851 son of John and Catherine is my grandfather's uncle. Along with Fillmore b.1856, William 1844,
and ? sister Mary.
I decend from William. And Filmore's decendency is being worked on as we write by a cous. in AZ. I will forward your info to her as it may offer clues.
Alan G. Fetrowa 1979/83 History of the Fetrow line does list a nellie dau. of one of the Augustus P. Fetrow's b. 1876, as having been born aft 1906. He does not trace any further. Nor does he have any information on Filmore.
I think though that there is a lot of information posted now regarding the family if you will search for Fetrow, John Philil 1719 wife Anna Mary Bose. contact me if you get stuck.

Looking for Daniel W. Fetro born abt 1834, died 1900. Served in Civil War, enlisted in Chicago. Suspect possibly from Tippecanoe, Indiana. Pension files states born Lisbon, Penn.. After the war settled in Seneca County, Ohio and married Mary Ann Smothers. Died in Old Soldiers Home, Sandusky, Ohio.

Looking for Daniel W. Fetro. There is a Daniel Fetro living with Stover family in 1860 census, not sure if mine but age is right. He served in Civil War, according to pension he enlisted in Chicago. Settled in Seneca County, Ohio after the war. Pension records state born Lisbon, Penn. Born about 1834.
