Sherry,

Thanks for responding. Since Henry Feuerbach (1870-?) is your g-grandfather, you and I share ggg-grandparents Hans Soenke (1803-1881) and Christina Maria Jacobs (1802-1864), so I guess we are 4th cousins.

I am mostly interested in the Soenke and Jacobs lines, but recently thought I was making progress with Feuerbach. When I found that 3 generations of Johann Feuerbachs married women named Dietz, I thought maybe there was some mistake. Can you help with any of this? I'll be glad to send you what I have in more detail, if you use my gmail address.

William Haloupek
haloupek@gmail.com

I'm trying to connect all these Feuerbachs with Henry Feuerbach (b. 1870) from Scott County, Iowa. He married Wilhelmine Soenke (b. 1872) in 1893.

This thread looks very promising, but I am still a little confused. It seems (if I have the right Johann) that Henry's father, grandfather and g-grandfather were all named Johann, and they all married women with maiden name Dietz. Also, there are many other Feuerbachs who were born in Echzell and moved to Scott County, and I would like to find out how they are related.

Hi. I just uploaded my paf file. It's called "Feuerbach Family History". My name is Rayna Rogerson, and my private email is

nina11955@yahoo.com

My dad is a descendant of Johann Philipp and Margaretha Dietz, who was the son of Johannes Faeuerbach II (a carpenter) and Anna Elisabetha Dietz, who was the son of Johannes Faeuerbach and Anna Elisabetha Mogk. Margaretha Dietz was the daughter of Johannes Dietz and Maria Elisabetha Mogk. Johannes Dietz was the son of Johannes Jost Dietz and Anna Elisabetha Shafer. Maria Elisabetha Mogk was the daughter of Johannes Mogk and Anna Catharina Junghans.

My aunt Erma Feuerbach Gednalske did this research, and I was given possession of it when she died, as I was the family member with the most interest.

I'd love pictures! I have a picture of Charles John and Emma, and Herman Jacob that I'd be happy to send you if you're interested. Thanks, Rayna

hello, again...I had totally forgotten about this correspondence..glad you wrote back. I am out of town for a few days but would love to help you. Let me know more about where you are in your research and what you are missing. Johann Philipp was from Johannes's first wife; I am actually from the second wife, but it is basically the same since the first wife died in Germany and when they got to PA, he married his first wife's niece. They were both Dietz's and Johann Philipp also married a Dietz. My mother was a Dietz and my paternal grandmother was a Feuerbach. No wonder we have crooked toes. I have visited Echzell and read the parish records there; also have photos of the town to share. Regards, Sherry

I am helping do some research on Gustav Feuerbachs line. I have come across several records in German Township, Vanderburgh co. where I live. I think Michael's father may be Peter but I have yet to verify that. I found Peter buried in our church cemetery but I only have a death date (30 Oct 1878)and no birth date. A Jacob Feuerbach also came over from
Weissenheim-am-Sand, Rheinphalz-Barvaria, Germany at the same time. I got this from the church records. Daughter Mathilda (Til) b. 20 Feb 2877 baptised March 4, 1877. Church records state mother Barbara was from Cinncinati, OH.
