Benjamin Feurt (Fort) married Mary Dever 7 Jun 1809 and had four children: Sarah, who married Charles Gapen (more on their family below), Mary Ann who married Joseph Titus, (not much know on this line), Washington W., and Greenberry L, who married Clara Boal and who became an Illinois Senator. As a lawyer his first case was opposed by another famous lawyer, Abraham Lincoln - who became the 16th President of the US. As a note, Greenberry had one son who died at 37, not known to have married, and its not thought Greenberry had any descendents beyound his son.

Mary Dever d/o John and Hannah (Cubberly, Cuberly,Coberly) Dever. John is the s/o John and Mary Dever. Because of the his first name, many refer to them as John Sr, and John Jr.

Sarah Feurt (Fort) married Charles C. Gapen who was born July 17, 1808 in PA, later moved to Scioto County Ohio, and then moved to Lacon, Marshall County, IL. He was appointed postmaster of Lacon IL and held that office for 12 years following which he retired to private life. He died in 1898.

Born to Charles and Sarah were four children: William T. who married Elizabeth Bailey; Washington F., who married Fannie Nelson; Timothy E., who married Mary Fisher in 1884, and Mary A., who married Theodore Blackman and lives in Peoria.

Timothy and his wife had one son, Charles L., who married Grace Bower and had two children: Helen and Marian. He had a busines in Sparland, where he owned 60 acres in addition to 640 acres Rush County Kanas.

Sarah's mother, Mary had a sister Mary Ann who married Joesph Titus in Marshall County, IL
