Re: FEZLER

I have seen references to Jeremiah and Eliza Fezler of NJ, but I have never found any documentation of them being Philip's parents. So, this is good news from you!....where ever did you find the proof?

I don't have the marriage date of Philip Fezler and Louisa Sheffer, but I have thought it must be in NJ, since their first child, Edward Clinton, was born in NJ. Your reference to an Edward S. Fezler, who is buried in the same cemetery as Jeremiah, as an 18yo, makes me wonder if Phillip named his first son after his brother who had died(?). Louisa died on 16 April 1869 and is buried in Blue Earth MN.
Phillip then married Julia Albina Bacon (b. 1828, d. 20 March 1890), marr on 21 May 1870 in Blue Earth, Faribault Co MN.

Phillip married a third time, to Caroline Ann (Barrows) Billings, but I don't have the date. This marriage was short-lived, involved land disputes, and Caroline moved to Muscatine Co IA where she spent the remainder of her life (I have her obit).

Also have a death notice of Phillip Fezler, who committed suicide by drinking bedbug poison.

I have a photo of Phillip (not the greatest, but OK)
If you are interested in this, I would be happy to correspond, and send copies of anything I have. You can use my home email: jenstad..."at" symbol...pro-ns.net

I'm not a direct descendant of the Fezler line, but my great-grandmother's sister married Edward Clinton Fezler.

Margaret

Pillips parents are Jeremiah B Fezler and Eliza, i don't know her last name. Not sure....but my Dad thought Edward S. Fezler was Phillips brother....still checking on that.
By any chance would you know the date Phillip and Louisa were married? or the date Phillip and his 2nd wife were married?

Linda,
Nice to hear from you.
I corresponded back and forth with Mina Goodwin many years ago, and I have a copy of the book she wrote. I have often wondered if she was still living, because I haven't connected with her in a few years, and I thought she was an older lady at that time.
Edward Clinton Fezler was married, 1st, to Adelia Emerette Wise (the sister of my great grandmother Ethusia DeEtte Wise). Edward and Adelia were divorced.
The children I have listed for Edward C. and Adelia Fezler are: Willliam Riley,Gilbert Henry, Delbert Edward, Lela Albina, Walter Brumel, Trask Henry, Jennie Louise, Nora DeEtte, and Earl Edward.
The children I have for Trask and Sarah are: Mina Iona, Wayne Elmo, Elvin Ellsworth, Ila Mae, Lloyd LeRoy, Erma Maude, and George Henry.
Margaret Jenstad

Just happened upon this website. My grandfather was Trask Henry Fezler. According to other messages, I believe he was one of the sons of Edward Fezler. My grandfather married Sarah Elizabeth Nash, I think in Blue Earth, MN. They moved to Osakis, MN and had 7 children. Lila, died as a child, Mina (survives and has done some tracing of the family), Wayne, Elvin, Lloyd (my father), Erma, and George are all deceased.

I remember my grandfather had a brother Riley, a sister Lela and a brother Wilbur. can't think of the other names just now but my aunt may have the info.

Linda Fezler Lowry

Looking for data on Phillip B. Fezler (b. 1823) and wife Louisa Shaffer (1830-1869), who came from New Jersey, to New York, to southern Minnesota. They had children: Edward, Samantha, Elnora, Ransom and Wilbur. Who were Phillip's parents? Did Phillip have any siblings? (Phillip stopped at Henry Co. IL on his way to MN. There was a George Fezler there. Is he related?) Please email replies. Thank you.
