Greetings, Fielden Message Board Listers:
Re FIELDEN / FIELDING family researchers descendants:
I am working with a few others to publish a 2-volume book on the genealogy and history of the FIELDEN / FIELDING
family of England, Nova Scotia, and the U.S. Volume I is nearing
completion and will contain the Fielding family history from the 1200s
to the present, including descendants of early family branches in
England, as well as later branches that migrated to Nova Scotia (1774),
Virginia (1667), and North Carolina (1740).
The Todmorden (Yorkshire) branch of our Fielding fanily contains our direct line,
however, we are also attempting to connect many other branches in
Yorkshire and Lancashire to our earlier roots in Warwickshire and
Leicestershire. We would be PLEASED to hear from any interested
researchers or descendants or long lost "cousins" of the FIELDING
family, including its allied families, who want to join us in this
project or who have data, questions, or suggestions. Our records are
open to anyone who wishes inquire for information and we will also
gladly exchange data. Allied families of Fielding of special interest
to us in the 1500-1750 period in WRY and eastern LAN include:
STANSFIELD, GREENWOOD, HELLIWELL, ARMISTEAD, KILDEN, TURNER, and SMITH
Included in the book to put flesh on the genealogical bones will be
maps, illustrations, family photograpshs, coats-of-arms, stories, poems,
tables, battles, figures, pictures, geographic descriptions, i.e., all
those parts that make a genealogy an informative personal journey.
Copies of the book will be reposited with several genealogical
institutions in England, including Yorkshire.
