I am researching the McMahon family and ran across your family. The Fielis family seems to be from Pennsylvania. A 1930 census record in Indiana has a William Fielis with a daughter named Dorothy. The name is horribly misspelled. A William Fielis is buried in Texas. Happy to share.

My mother's maiden name is Fielis, Nancy Lynn. Not sure of her father's name, they lived in the Philadelphia area. The grandfather was Harry Raymond Fielis, Im sure of that, he was a dance instuctor and I assume performer bout the turn of the century.

Past that I run into dead ends. From what I can tell the name may be Italian, not positive on that though. Also I might mention that the line is not quite dead. I have and Uncle Joseph Fielis and he has a son, also Joseph.

my wife mother's maiden name was Fielis, She was born in NY 1917 and died in 1982 in NY I know very little about her father only that he died in NY the early 1930s and is buried in calvary cemetary in Queens NY
I know it is a very uncommon name

William Henry Fielis

My mother is Dorothy Louise Fielis Rivers who is the daughter of William. I am trying to find any relatives of William. My mother did not know much about the Fielis family except they were from Indinan and he had a brother named Paul. Since the boys all had daughters and no sons, the Fielis legacy is closed. So, I am new at this and don't know where to start and I am hoping I can get some help from someone out there.
