I have been searching this side for awhile now and just can't seem to get anywhere. If you know of anything that might be helpful or know what I might need to do, please let me know. The Figueroa's that I am researching are in South Texas. My husband and his father were born in Bay City. His grandfather Cruz Figueroa Sr was born in Brownsville on 09-14-1917 and his great grandfather Luis Figueroa was born in Texas on 6-21-1891 but don't know what city. Luis's wife is Tranquilina Flores Figueroa born 7-6-1891 but also don't know where. That's as far back as we can get.

In the 1880 census there appears to be only 3 families in Texas with the Figueroa name. Surely that can't be right. But it may very well be. Even so we have been assuming that his family comes from Mexico. Maybe we are wrong, we don't know what to think anymore. Sure am hoping that someone somewhere can get us on the right path again.
