I would like to speak about this family. I have done extensive research on the Finamore family in Savignano. I could actually use some rough dates in order to be a greater assistance. I Live in NJ and have been to Italy twice in the last 2 years researching the Families of Savignano and have amassed a database of 45,000+ people. If your family is from that town I will be able to help you.

I have Domenico Finamore who was the son of Fedele but he was born about 1830. I also have another Fedele who was married to Rosa Verdone.

When was Prospero born? When was Fedele Born? When was Domenico Born?

I am in dire need of dates in order to help

Patsy Finamore had several brothers. He is my grandfather who was born in 1890,Sept. 11. My mother who has the link of information available from her father (Patsy) tells me he is the eldest brother, that he had several brothers. Several remained in Padula, but one had emigrated to Argentina. She is unsure of her uncle's first name. I don't know if this helps but if there is any link to our families please post a message. Thanks, Mary

Hi
I just logged back onto the ancestry.com site. and found your reply. I don't have much information on my grandfather. My mother is living and she can give me information, and I will contact you by the Finamore site; I will try to be as quick as possible, the only two living children of Patsy, are Antoinette and Willie. The name was Americanized and Finamore, and Fenamore was used interchangeably. He lived in NY, and from what I can gather had not moved from there. I know he had a brother John, who also can from Padula. Anymore, information is fuzzy at least with THIS generation, but, I will check with my mom. Mary

Hi! I don't know if this applies to any of the questions above.
My grandfather was Cono Finamore, he lived in Brooklyn,Prospect Park area, around
the late 1800's and died in 1917. He was from Salerno, he came with his mother and what
other siblings I don't know.I know of one branch that moved to Dever. Salerno is around Naples. Looking at these records I noted a
Cono Finamore born in 1928, died in 1994. I wonder if we are related as
Cono is not common name.

I know it's been a long time since you posted a message about Dominick Finamore from Italy, and no doubt you have obtained additional information since then. However, I recently found some birth records for my ancestor, Prospero Finamore, born in Savignano di Puglia, Province of Avellino, Region of Campania, Italy. His parents were: Domenico Finamore (son of Fedele?) and Angelamaria D'Elia. I was surprised, since the family history is that he came from Campobasso (city or province). There were also a lot of Finamores from Bagnoli di Trigno in Abruzzo, I believe. Do you think there is any connection?

In the list there´s no other Finamore. My G-grand father was Michele Finamore from Padula, so Im always looking for information about Finamore´s from Padula.

Finamore Family from Campobasso

I am researching the family of Prospero Finamore, who was born 22 Feb 1873 to Domenico Finamore and Maria Delia, somewhere in the province of Campobasso. He immigrated to New York City in April, 1896, marrying Carmela D'apice about 1898. His children were: Domenico (born 10 October 1899), who married Rose _______ about 1930; Josephine, b. circa 1901; Frank, b. circa 1903; Alfred, b. circa 1905; Ida, b. circa 1907; Assunta, b. circa 1909; Millie, b. circa 1911; Anna, b. circa 1912; Lucy, b. circa 1919; and Antoinette, b. circa 1920. Domenico Americanized his name to "Dominick," and died in Sept, 1965 in Brooklyn, NY. He was a printer by trade. Any information would be appreciated.

My grandfather, "Patsy" came to the US when he was about 17-18 years old-approx. 1915-1916, from Padula,Italy. From what I can find out family, he came alone. I am trying to find out if anyone has any information on other relatives that might have come with him to the US. His mother and father remained in Italy. (he died) She remembers Angie coming to her home.
There was an Angie that would have been a bit older than Grandma Bea.
Hope this helps.Writing from Moms computer.
Email her.
Hugs to all.
Sylvia

First allow me to apologize for the tremendous delay in response. Then let me tell you that I have little or no knowledge of my Domineck Finamore who married my grandfather Florie DeSanto's half sister Lena which is short for Angelina. I do no know where either the DeSanto's or Finamores come from in Italy. I have so far been frustrated at every avenue attempting to find out. My Domenick is quite a bit older. Do you have any idea where Pescasseroli is located in Italy? Supposedly the DeSanto's embarked from the Naples area but I have not been able to confirm that so far. Sorry I made you wait so long to be of little help! Good luck with your search.

Toni

Dear Toni,

Hi, it is good to hear from you. I am in the process of moving into my new home, so my computer has been down for two months now. Also, most of my genealogy stuff is packed away. I do know where Pescasseroli is in Italy, but give me a couple days to get back to you when I dig the stuff out, okay? Where did your Finamores live in the US? My grandfather and his father and mother eventually came here to Pennsylvania, but I think that the father came in through New York from Naples, Italy. I'll check to make sure, though. I'll be in touch soon. You may e-mail me now at Andrea_Maxwell@msn.com

HI there! What is your e-mail address so I can talk to you directly???
I'm glad you gave me that information...I think it is the DiPerro side, since I have found out that the Finamores came from Pescasseroli, which is in the Abruzzi province. I will have to look further into that which you gave me. My e-mail address is: Andrea_Maxwell@msn.com please let me know what your address is, and also your mother's.
