I'm Christal Finan of San Diego, CA. My father, Albert Finan, was born and raised here to John and Elsabeth Finan. My grandfather was in the Navy. My dad was the youngest of twelve children. I don't have much contact with my family members, aunts, uncles, etc. and I'd like to know if anyone knows which part of Ireland our Finan ancestors originated from or if the last name was/is common throughout Ireland. My dad was born in May of 1941, and he passed away in May of 1997. It seems there are lots of Finan's back east and I was wondering if perhaps I am descended from them, or the Canadian Finan families. Any information is greatly appreciated! Thank you.
