Re: FINNEY SURNAME
Hi Doreen
In answer to your information request, There is certainly still Finney's still living in Anstey Leicestershire, I have just started searching our family tree with help from my dad.
His side of our family originate from Anstey with my G Uncle still living till last year (2007) in Anstey Village (Jack Finney) he is now in a care home as far as i can find out, I'm looking for all the children of Thomas Finney born 1869.
We know that he had two lots of children from two wives (well we think 2 wive) A Beatrice Alice Finney (think her maiden name was Harris, still have ? on this) & the other wife being Ellen Finney (think her maiden name was Clarke but now sure on that either)
I sorry but this is all i know & i'm still learning but enjoying doing the investigations my dad's dad (George Eward Finney born 1913) is from the second family of Beatrice.
I'm becoming very muddled but enjoying sorting it out, dad gave up days ago!
Hope this helps
Best Wishes
Mr Glynn Finney
