Hi Margaret,
I'm sorry for the delay in getting back to you, however due to a severe lackage of Old Parish Records this one took a bit longer than expected.
Catharine Finnie was the daughter of William Finnie Margaret Allan. She was born about 1836 in Aberdeen. She married Andrew Fraser Robertson 2 June, 1857, Wolverton, Buckinghamshire, England. Andrew Fraser Robertson was the son of John Robertson Isabella Fraser and he was baptised 18 December, 1835, Inverness. The 1861 Census is shown as follows:
Parish of St. Nicholas, Aberdeen
District 39; Page 5; Schedule 20; 78 Shiprow
Andrew Robertson, head, mar, 25, Iron Twiner, Inverness
Catherine Robertson, wife, mar, 24, Aberdeen
William Robertson, son, 3, scholar, Aberdeen
Andrew Robertson, son, 2, Aberdeen
James Robertson, son, 10 months, Aberdeen
The 1881 Census is as follows:
Parish of St. Nicholas, Aberdeen
District 41; Page 39; 10 Fish Street
Catherine Robertson, head, W, 42, Aberdeen
James Robertson, son, unmar, 21, Slater, Aberdeen
Catherine Robertson, dau, unmar, 19, Domestic Servant, Aberdeen
Alice Robertson, dau, 12, scholar, Aberdeen
Andrew Fraser Robertson must have died sometime 1872-1881.
Catharine Finnie remarried in 1882 to a David Campbell (son of Charles Campbell Margaret Yule). David's occupation was Plasterer.
Catharine died 12 June, 1904 in Hutcheon Street, Aberdeen.
The good news is that Catharine's father William Finnie was my husband's gg grand-uncle and I have various other information that you may or may not be interested in. Due to the extent of this information could you please e-mail direct
I have also this last week been contacted by another person researching this family via Catharine Andrew's daughter Catherine Robertson, who I think is his gg grandmother, and will put you in touch if you so request. I look forward to hearing from you.
